I just last minute realized I was a TS credit short on an Epcot day! Anyways Im anaphalactic to mushrooms and shellfish. So I was wondering what people thought of the chicken dish and the steak. As far as the chicken dish I saw Spaetzle and was like mmm (I grew up on my grandma making schnitzel and spaetzle alot). And as far as the beef was a good cut or did you find it gristley or fatty?

Tia! :goodvibes

When I ate there a while back the beef was not very good. My wife got a pasta dish and ate 2 bits and sent it back. I hope that it has gotten better and that we just got an off night. Either which way it is a cool eating experience.

We were at Coral Reef last year and my DH and I ordered the steak and we both thought it was one of THE BEST steaks we've ever had. Seriously. It was really, really good.

I second that about the steak. We ordered one last August and thought it was one of the best steaks we have ever eaten at Disney.

I had the vegetarian lazagne when we went last October. I am a dyed-in-the-wool carnivore, and it was easily the best meal of the trip.

We're headed back this October and Coral Reef is one of only two restaurants we are repeating from our last trip.

My mother and sister both had fish, and they also loved their meals.

I would say you shoud have no trouble finding something you like there!

Coral Reef is one of two restaurants that we've made sure to eat at the past 3 times we've been to WDW. I've had the steak everytime and I agree with the previous two posters that it has consistently been the best that I've had on Disney property (including eating at Le Cellier).

I definitely suggest trying it if you decide to eat at Coral Reef! :thumbsup2

Coral Reef is my favorite WDW restaurant - love the atmosphere with the aquarium view. I have gotten the steak there for the past three years and it has been excellent each time.

Thanks so much:) I dont eat seafood at all because sometimes it comes in contact with shellfish and Im uber careful, that and I dont like the taste:)

Glad to hear the steak is good...
has anyone had the chicken by chance I was real curious about it as well:)

I was contemplating Teppan Edo but because of the mushroom allergy and shellfish allergy they'd cook my food at a different grill and it took away from the experience idea in my head

Thanks DISers :)

Me and the dis family ate there 2 yrs ago. Itwas our 1st but certainly not our last trip. My DW DS n DD all had fish while I had the steak. Although it wasn't the absolute best I've ever eaten it was definitely well above average n a definite must if on theDDP or not for that matter. I highly recommend this restaurant u can't go wrong. :thumbsup2

We could be twins! I am also severely allergic to shellfish and mushrooms. I have an ADR at Coral Reef in 3 weeks and plan to get the chicken dish there. I have read reviews and seen pictures and it looks delicious.

make sure you tell the chef's at the restaurants that you go to..... on other threads people have said that the chefs will come out, talk to you and get the whole picture of what your needs are.

As for Coral Reef, the steak is terrific !!! That's one of my MOST favorite places. You can't beat the ambiance. :goodvibes

On our last trip DBF ordered the chicken. OMG...it is so good! I ordered the steak. You cannot go wrong with either dish. We actually love the chicken so much we have a dish we make at home that is very similar. Loved it!

Yep as its an anaphalactic allergy so I had it noted on all the reservations, and as far as CS I figure welllll if they are selling shellfish thats quite the CS place lol.

Thank you all so much for your response. I told DF we're eating in an aquarium seriously he didnt act 31 he acted 12 he was so excited

He's never been to Disney World but he said no character meals but things that are fun! So hopefully we have great experiences like y'all!

I had the chicken dish in Sept. and, while tasty at first, it was extremely salty and I eventually had to stop eating it because of that.

Me too best steak. We ate at Lecelliar the next day and did not like it compared to Coral!:thumbsup2

Also forgot to mention, my son spent the whole meal eyes peeled to the aquarium! He thought that was soooooo cooool!:cool1::cool1:

Here is a picture of the Chicken at Coral Reef, OMG it was amazing! I didn't find it that salty. I had thought that the spaetzle under it would have been more "brothy" but that wasn't a big deal. I would definitely get it again. My DH got the Pork Tenderloin and I'll post a pic of that too.
