Second time there, liked it the first time, LOVED it this time. We had the best server we have EVER had at any WDW restaurant. Not sure I can mention the CM's names here, so I won't. She said she has worked there for 24 years. We sat right by the tank this time. I asked about it when checking in. They said it could take a while to get a table there, but it only took about 10 minutes The CM that took us to our table was great too! There were a couple of kids that came up to the tank, right by our table, but it didn't bother me. However, our server kept asking me if I wanted her to ask them to leave. I told her it wasn't bothering us. When our food came, I guess she couldn't stand it any longer, and she asked them to scoot down a bit
The food was great. My dh got a steak, me the grouper, my ds 10 got the pork and my dd 8 ordered something off the kids meal and I cannot remember what. Maybe it was grilled chicken. I forgot to take a picture of the food, but honestly what matters more than the chocolate wave? I did remember to get a pic of mine before I dug in

Our server insisted she take a family pic of us before we left, and she did. I was having a hard time getting any good pics against the tank, but somehow she got a good one I tipped her good, she came back and thanked me for being generous, brought me a light up ice cube and a couple of recipe cards. Best dining experience we had the entire trip

Is this one of the restaurants you NEED to make advanced reservations for? Or could we decide to eat there one day when we go in May and expect a table (after a wait of course)?

I hope you get her too! I wonder if you could request a certain server? It is a noisy place, and she even apologized for that, but not like she can help that! LOL I remembered that from our first time there. (noise level)

I would go ahead and make a reservation, just in case. That way you won't have to wait around for a table as long.

Coral Reef is probably one of my favorite restaurants in WDW!! It is wonderful!! Dont let the negative reviews scare you!!

We ate lunch at Coral Reef in September, it was our first time there. We had a great meal and this restaurant is now on our must do list.

Glad to hear another good review of Coral Reef. We ate there this past October and I LOVED it, even though we weren't seated near the aquarium. I usually don't eat fish, but LOVED the salmon. My kids enjoyed splitting a pizza as well.

PlutosFriend, thanks for posting that picture of the chocolate wave!!! I went there a few years ago and got that dessert and it was the absolute BEST dessert I have ever had. I can not eat gluten and they told me that it is flour-less (gluten-free). I was in heaven...my husband said that I never looked happier!!!! Anyways, we are going back in April and I hope to make an ADR here just to get this dessert again. We have always sat in the very last row (we've been here 3 times now) so I am going to ask to sit near fish tank this time and see if we can get closer.

I didn't have her as a waitress but the couple near me did. I watched her as she waited on them and she was great.

About that Chocolate Wave desert. WOW is all I can say. I don't like chocolate cake normally at all but I tried some of this because my husband got it. I wanted to steal his whole plate. It was SO good.

We will be dining there on Tuesday with my parents (they've never been) and I have a diver and special menus arranged...this trip is a 30th anniversary gift to my parents (mom & stepdad).

I can't wait!!

We had an incredible lunch in August and a wonderful server. I've never had any complaints and simply love the CR. You can read about it and see the diver video for my DD's 18th birthday, in my TR.
