Coral Reef Review

We are trying it in June as well....anyone care to post apic or send me to a link where I can see a pic of this seemingly wonderful Chocloate Wave??? Anything with the word chocolate in it I would luv!

My two DD's and I loved it too. The steak was sooooo good my oldest DD still talks about it and we where there in 2005. The only bad thing about the whole thing was my youngest DD chicken was a little dry. But everything else was 2:thumbsup2

I see a lot of positive's here, but I need to throw in my 2 cents.....

we, my wife and myself, will probably never go back to coral reaf with all of the other restaraunts to choose from around the world. We feel that it was lacking in service and quality of food,,,now i'm going back to 2002 when the original dining plan came out and charged 2 credits, now it's only 1 credit, so it had been demoted from complaints...we received horrible service, which may have put us off on the food because of perception....

maybe they've changed, but if you are in epcot there are so many other choices that i don't feel it's worth the stop,,,unless you really need to see the fish tank,,,which is pretty cool......

12 days and counting :cool1:

Well we were there in May and our food and service was second to none. In fact I have never had a better meal anywhere. I say give it a try at least once.

We ate at the Coral Reef in September. It was by far the best meal we had while at Disney. We had the NYS Steak and it was better than the steak at Le Cellier. The Chocolate Wave Cake was the best thing I have ever put into my mouth. We will be back on ever return trip.

My husband order the pineapple cake for dessert but I had done my research here on the boards and knew not to miss the chocolate wave. I tried to tell him but he didn't listen. Once the Chocolate Wave arrived he ordered himself one. We both agreed the this dessert was worth a trip to Disney alone!

We ate there last May (06) and gave it a poor review and swore we would never go back. This Oct (06) we tried it again (the menu had changed) and it was so much better than our previous time. I had taken them off my list, but since we ate there in Oct, they have been put back on. Maybe in May they were going through some issues (service was bad and the food was yuck). We are glad we tried again and can't wait to try them next month again. So anyone who tried them in the past, they should reconsider as things do change (esp. menus and chefs). We tried LeCellier 3 times and had so so meals, but kept trying them and have really grown fond of them now too.

It was our favorite restaurant in Nov. (took over LeCellier's place). The steak was by far the best steak I had all week. My complaint with so many steaks in the World is the strong mesquite flavor. I also like the crab claws for appetizer. Service was good too and they were completely full.

Coral Reef is one of Disney's most relaxing treasures! There isn't a bad table in the Coral Reef and the water, fish and good staff make it a pleasure.

Over all the years the only time we didn't like it was when we booked it for the Candlelight Processional, staff was rushed and food seemed prepared ahead of time in order to get us to the show on time.

Glad to hear some others have enjoyed it. We went for lunch in October (I had somehow left one TS credit go unused when I reserved 180 day prior so I called the morning we wanted to eat there and we got in no problem), it was totally unplanned and by far our best meal of the trip. The steak was fantastic, the children all loved their meals including the make your own sundaes, chocolate wave was fed to me by the waiter, yum. Great service! We had an issue with credits (after booking this last meal because we had one left we were told when we paid we didn't have any) the manager called someone and told them our story, credits were restored within two minutes.

It was my favorite meal of our trip in December! Glad you liked it! :)

Glad to see you enjoyed it! We have added it to our list for July and I'm excited about it more and more with every post. THANKS!
Lesley

Thanks for the reviews! We are eating there in 2 1/2 weeks and I was a little nervous.

Hi All,

We were there in May for lunch, and were very disappointed. I do love the atmosphere, so we tried again in Jan, but for dinner. It was definitely better, but I still think I would choose Le Cellier or Kona.

Our server was great, her name was Amy...One of the best ever.

For those who have never been, definitely go. The tank is very cool!!

The chocolate Wave is yummy. Similar to a molten choc cake, if you've ever had one of those.

I would recommend Coral Reef to anyone. I was leary after hearing the reveiws but decied to try it. We just got back on 1/20 and we had dinner there on 1/12 and it was so fantastic that we cancelled our reservation at Concourse Steakhouse and went back another night. We were a large party and a great time. On the 12th we were there for about 2 hours and never felt rushed and were able to enjoy watching the large fish tank and we got to see the divers also. We had some picky eaters and they even enjoyed everything. I would highly recommend the chocolate wave as it was fantastic..

Our server on the 12th was Blanca and on the 18th it was Brian. Both were excellent....

I just made a ressie for Mr 20 for my 5 year old dd and myself. All they had was 3:20. I'll have to keep calling back to see if I can get something earlier. Do they have the same menu for lunch as for dinner? I feel having TS for lunch is a better use of my time. Is that a good use of my credits though? I am a first timer here. It's a nice way to break up the day and then I can get back to enjoying the park. I'll have to try to Chocolate Wave for sure. Thanks for all the reviews. Now I am glad I made a reservation there.

just returned, and the best meal of the week had to be "the reef"
that is awesome, i feel like i stole that meal. (dining plan)
great service,
beautiful setting,
and the food was five star
from appetizer to that chocolate wave.

i cant believe i have seen bad reviews of that restaurant

is that for me?

favorite is hard to say with sooo many great restaurants in the world (meaning epcot of course) and the rest of Disney

favorite non character? maybe

favorite seafood? probably.

a do not miss restaurant, yes. i think so,

but it is pricey,
i was on the dining plan which made it even sweeter.
