Coral Reef Restaurant - Diver/menu - Discontinued for 2009

thanks for this, we are going in just over 6 months...I am subscribing to this to remember! ;)

Anyone know if the divers are available during lunch? Thanks!

Well everyone thank you so much for all the tips. Debbi is wonderful and she set up the divers today (2/5)for me on Saturday (2/9) at lunch. I know there was a lunch question. I will let you know how it goes next week!!!!

I didn't know they'd do lunch! That's nice to know! I'm sure it will be great. :)

Please keep us posted! I will be making reservations next week and since we aren't on the DDP I would like to do lunch instead of dinner. Thanks!

I just left a message for Debbie on her personal voicemail. Gee I hope it's OK that I called her. We are taking my cousins for their first trip to WDW and one of them is turning 17 on our very first day. We had scheduled a reservation at Coral Reef, canceled it and then rescheduled it. I'm glad I found this. This sounds so neat. Even if I just get the special menu!

I'll let you know how the whole reservation process goes.

Don't think I have posted here. Just wanted to share our experience. We spent DD's 14th bday in WDW and had dinner at Coral Reef. In the beginning she was very unhappy with my choice in parks for the day and our dining. Thankfully she changed her mind after dinner. :) She was kind of funny because I think she expected something to happen. Namely the cake. She wants to be a marine biologist and was enjoying the fish (we sat her right next to the tank) when the diver came. She was shocked to say the least. She really enjoyed the experience. After we had finished dinner she was texting all her friends back home to tell them what a cool thing Mom had done. :)

Also here is a picture of her cake. Which I ordered ahead of time as well.

Oh ms mckenna I love that cake. I am going in 2 days and I can't wait to surprise my friends, they have no idea!!!!

Debbi is great. I called her on friday 2/1 and left a message in the morning. She called me back that afternoon and we set everything up. She gave me her email address and I sent her the pictures on sunday. She replied that she got them and that everything is set up for june 12th.

I just got my diver and menu all set up for Aug 7th!! DH will be VERY surprised! Could someone please PM me Debbi's correct email address. I tried to send her an email for my menu pics and it didnt go through. Thanks.

after reading through much of this post i am still unclear on one thing--do they do this for lunch:confused3 or is it just for dinner..and for those who have done it in the past do you get a window seat because you have arranged this or do they just seat you anywhere?thanks

I will tell my experience so far. I just booked this 2 days ago for this coming Saturday. My ressies are at 12p (lunch is ok). I was told that we may or may not be by the glass but will be close enough to see the diver. I will let everyone know how it went on monday when I am back. I hope that answers your question.

Ours was a late lunch(2:00?)--and we were seated by the window.

I would make the ADR, and then contact Coral Reef... the restaurant can work with you and move your ADR if needed.

Just so I understand this correctly, we have to have dining reservations made first and then we call Debbie and set up the menu and diver? I can't just call Debbie directly and make the dinner reservations through her, correct?

We are going in 2 weeks and I wasn't given much planning time b/c I won the trip. I have GOT to do this!!!

Well, I called Debbi last Wednesday and just heard from her. So I would give her at least a week. She was terrific! We are taking my little cousins to Disney World for the first time and one of them is turning 17 on the day we'll be there. She is doing a two sided sign one for the birthday and one to welcome the other cousin on her first trip. She's even making two different menus for each kid. How sweet it that. I just can't believe Disney does something like this. I'm glad it's on my first day or I couldn't wait through the vacation week to get to it!

Yes, you need reservations first and then call her and set up the diver and menu. She asked me for a confirmation of my reservations so she could look me up. So I would definitely have that ready first.

Could someone please PM me with Debbi's email address? Thanks!!!

I think this has been discussed on here before but you should call first and then Debbi will give you her email address. The way I understand it she receives phone calls and then returns those and starts work on the sign and sets up the diver. She then gives you her email for you to send pictures for the menu. I believe the emailing is only for people who are already set up. This way she knows that emails are from people who she's talked to. If you sent her an email inquiry then she may not realize she needs to respond. Does that make sense? Best thing to do is call her. It took her a week to get back to me but I guess she's just busy. Good luck with your plans.

i left a message for debbie on january 29th (with my phone #, of course). just wanted to get opinions: should i call again b/c i never heard back from her?
it's going to be our 25th wedding anniversary (a biggie to us ~ not too many of those anymore :guilty: ), & i would like to surprise DH with a little sign or something different (we go to WDW 2x a year, & have celebrated birthdays, other anniversaries, etc without any extra *pixie dust* (that we didn't specifically pay for). just wanted this one day to be a little more special than any other).
suggestions?
