We have reservations for dinner, for the first time, at Coral Reef in June. Our daughter has a peanut allergy, which we've never had a problem with at any Disney restaurant. (They are so good with allergy issues!) However, my husband just heard from someone that they have peanut butter playdough for kids to play with at Coral Reef! Does anyone know anything about this? I looked at the kids menu and it doesn't say anything about it. Even if our kids aren't playing with it, it makes me nervous to think that all the kids around us will have it. Should I just cancel the reservation?

No longer appears to be on the menu. Child's menu selections are fruit cups or ice cream sundae.

You should be aware, though, that WDW often makes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (usually the uncrustable type) available for children. If you are concerned with what anyone is eating at neighboring tables, or what the party before you had to eat at the table you're sitting at now, be aware of that.

Was just there 2/17 and there was no PB of any form on the menu. The "entertainment" for the kids was the standard crayons to color on their menu, and a guide to the fish in the aquarium.
They had make your own sundae as a dessert, with choc syrup, sprinkles and M&M's. IDK about cross-contamination from those ingredients.
As a previous post said, most of the PBJ served at WDW are pre-wrapped uncrustables - so in theory, there is no contamination in the kitchen (our school cafeteria uses that idea also), but you never know how messy the child before you was or how thoroughly the table, bench, etc was wiped.

Thank you for your replies. Hopefully it won't be an issue. I always wipe the tables down myself, just in case, and the occasional peanut butter sandwich next to us will be fine. I was just imagining that they gave this to all the kids to play with, therefore we would be in a room full of it! :scared1:
Thanks again!

Yikes, I have visions of peanut butter playdoh missles flying around the area with an allergic kid. :scared1:

Glad they don't have it anymore. I can only imagine the nightmares it must have caused everyone, what with it being food and a toy. Germ city.

We have an ADR for April at the Coral Reef and I "freaked" when I saw your post. So relieved I won't have to worry!

I know!! Gives a whole new meaning to playing with your food!! :scared:
I'm so glad we won't have to cancel!! I freaked too!

We've been to Coral Reef twice with our kids and they've never been given anything to occupy them other than the crayons and coloring sheets and the fish guide that was mentioned earlier.
