My group has a reservation for the Coral Reef, but after taking a look at the menu I am wondering if we made the right choice. It seems like there is a lot of seafood on the menu and there are more non-seafood eaters in the group than seafood eaters. Should I suggest we switch?

I only am suggesting Via Napoli because it looks good and it just opened, but if you have been there please give me honest feedback. How casual or formal is it? We don't want a QS meal, but we aren't looking to eat at a Victoria & Alberts either.

If you have any pictures that would be awesome.

Thanks!

I love the Coral Reef, but I recommend that you suggest switching your reservation. I've been to the Coral Reef four times and have had four fantastic meals there, but they've always been seafood dishes. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to non-seafood eaters. Their strength is their fish dishes.

Thanks. I am going to suggest the switch :thumbsup2

My only complaint about Via Napoli was the noise level. My biggest problem with Coral Reef is well, the noise level. Both have slower service. I like the food about the same at both but I always eat fish at Coral Reef. I've never been happy with their meat dishes.

We did Coral Reef and I am a non-seafood eater. While my steak was good - it was really the only option I had. I would look for an alterative option in Epcot. If you want steak try LeCellier or be adventurous and try some of the countries. Morocco was a favorite for my family and we have done Italy, Mexico, United Kingdom (not a favorite), China, Japan and Germany.

We love Coral Reef and make it a tradition to go on every trip! Never a bad meal, and we love the ambiance.

I love Via Napoli, but I also love the steak at Coral Reef. If your non-seafood eaters like steak you can't go wrong!

I just read some reviews and they were so-so about Via Napoli. Should I be worried? We made the switch last night :scared1: We also looked into Il Mulino at the Swan. Is that better than Via Napoli? So many options...ahhhh!

We love the CR. I don't eat seafood. I get the chicken and DH gets the steak. I do sub mashed for the spaetzel tho! We liked Via napole especially the pizza and desserts but CR is a better atmosphere.

You can eat pizza in any city or town. How often can you eat surrounded by an enormous aquarium?

We did not like Via Napoli, at least for the drinks, pizza, and atmosphere.

We wanted the Carciofi pizza- artichoke, pecorino, mozzarella, truffle oil-- but they were out. So we got the pepperoni pizza. Better than the pizza at the window in Boardwalk, but not by much, IMO.

Don't spend the $$ on the Acqua Fresca, either. They are supposed to made with fruit juice and water. I ordered the Blood Orange, and it tasted artificial, like flat, diluted orange Fanta with ice.

The lighting at night in the side room is awful: Fluorescent canned lighting--it felt like we were eating in a parking garage. The outside of the restaurant is very deceiving since the exterior is very beautiful.

And it was noisy.

I was really looking forward to some excellent pizza, but I was so disappointed with it here.

And ditto what ultra63 said :thumbsup2

This is just my opinion since you asked for them. I read opinions on dining, and then I try a restaurant on my own to form mine.

Good luck, and BTW, we love Coral Reef.

Il Mulino is much better. It's upscale dining with outstanding service and a very nice wine selection. It's a quieter romantic restaurant; well worth the price of the food plus they do throw in an amuse bouche which is a nice touch.

You have to take reviews with a grain of salt though. Coral Reef and Via Napoli are two of my faves. Went to both last trip and our whole party liked them each so much, we are going back for this trip. If the menu sounds good to you, go for it!

Have fun:goodvibes

Thanks for the input. I did read reviews that said Via Napoli wasn't very good, so that was concerning. The inside looks nice though!

I would recommend Tutto Italia over Via Napoli unless you want pizza. Have not tried Il Mulino or Coral Reef. At Via Napoli the service was terrible (but it could be luck of the draw on your waiter), the pizza was decent, everything else was not. When my wife tried my chicken parm, she asked me "you like that?" as if no human being could. It came with some "spaghetti torte" thing on the side which was literally inedible. The arancini appetizer was "so so", I've had better rice balls in Brooklyn for $1. The calamari was marginally better. What they called a "zeppole" was possibly the worst dessert I've had in WDW. They were cold, and we were told that was intentional, they wouldn't want to serve hot fried food to the guests! (Despite the fried arancini and calamari we had as apps...)

We just ate at both last week. Did not enjoy Via Napoli. It was bright and noisy and the food was so-so. If you have a younger woman in your party, there are cute little Italian waiters. ;)
We loved Coral Reef. I wasn't sure since I've read some bad reviews, but my fish was amazing. It wasn't even the fish as much as the mushroom risotto that it was sitting on. My husband ordered the NY strip and said it was pretty good. We live in KC, so that's pretty high praise. Our waiter was terrific and the atmosphere was nice, quiet and dark.

Where is Tutto Italia?
