Coral Reef or Liberty Tree??

I need some help deciding between Coral Reef and Liberty Tree Tavern. My mom and niece haven't been to either and I haven't been to coral reef in 10 years and never at Liberty Tree. Both fit into our plans, but we're having a hard time choosing between the 2.

Personally I much prefer Liberty Tree Tavern. Coral Reef was just 'meh' for me. Sure the aquarium is a fun novelty but the food was just OK at best.

I've heard Coral Reef is pretty overrated, though I've never been there. I'd say Liberty Tree. We went there and it was quite good, and easy to get reservations for. If you want to dine with an aquarium, T-Rex is a lot of fun in Disney Springs.

Having dined at both, I would say that if your priority is view/scenery, then go with Coral Reef. If your priority is food quality, go with LTT.

I'd say Coral Reef. A more varied selection - not family style. I find the food to be rather good and the chocolate lava cake dessert is outstanding!

Still tough though because I love them both for lunch. I LOVE coral reef, and I always book it right for opening (11:30) so that i can show up 15 minutes early and be guaranteed a table by the tank (if not RIGHT on it, then 2-top directly next to the one that is right on it). I love LTT for lunch too. These are both old favorites of mine that I've been going to for 20 years.

At Coral Reef I have loved the lobster bisque for that entire time... it's what keeps me coming back. It is SOOO good with the fresh, hot, crusty sourdough rolls they serve. On our last trip I had the shrimp and grits and it was delicious (I make this myself and I also had it at Narcoossees as an app and it was nowhere near as good). And the chocolate wave is another favorite I have been ordering for decades... but next time I would ask for vanilla ice cream instead of raspberry gelato, I found it a bit icy. The food has always been very solid for me and I have always been perplexed by bad reviews (I am pretty picky and very detailed in my reviews to show it).

I have not had the AYCTE meal at LTT since the characters were there but the a la carte lunch menu has always been a favorite of mine too. I have not been back in a few years but it still gets good reviews. The atmosphere is also great and themed in there but the backups for seating can get quite large so if you choose that one I'd make it an early seating as well.

If I could only do one I'd probably do Coral Reef just because I think the atmosphere is really stellar and I really love the food as well... but honestly i'd do both... and I actually AM on my next trip!!! Go during a la carte time and share something maybe to keep costs down and hit both for lunch

if you're on the DDP I'd pick coral reef. It's a good opportunity to have a very expensive lunch. LTT is a great OOP option... I skipped it last trip because were were on the DxDDP. Then again I am not really a huge fan of the AYCTE thanksgiving thing, the most appealing things there are on the lunch a la carte menu.

Coral Reef is kind of pricey OOP. I'd do CR while on DDP and save LTT for another time when you are OOP.

I suppose it depends on your favorite types of meals too. I prefer the menu at Coral Reef over the menu at Liberty Tree. I also prefer the atmosphere at Coral Reef over Liberty Tree Tavern. But I think I may be in the minority in that opinion. So overall for me, Coral Reef is the winner.

I prefer Liberty Tree - mainly because I don't like seafood.

I'm not a seafood fan, but I love Coral Reef. I've found plenty of land-roaming food options there.

With that said, LTT is also good, however I feel like it lost a lot of its magic 8 or 9 years ago when they stopped character dining there.

So... I would choose Coral Reef. It gets a bad rap on these boards, but it really is one of my favorites.
