Coral Reef or Garden Grill?

DH, DD (will turn 4 during our trip), and I will be taking our first trip ever to Disney in November. We will be on the deluxe dining plan and already have ADR's at Akershus for breakfast and Le Cellier for lunch (since we couldn't get dinner) on our Epcot Day. We have plenty of other character meals planned during our trip so the characters at Garden Grill aren't necessarily a deciding factor.

So, would you choose Coral Reef or Garden Grill for dinner based on being fun for a child AND good food? Or someplace else that fits both of those criteria?

Thanks! :)

We've always enjoyed the food at Coral Reef (can't speak for Garden Grill since it was so long ago.). Since you are already doing character meals, I would eat at Coral Reef. The aquarium is so interesting. I'm sure your daughter will love it!!

I agree with the previous poster in that we love Coral Reef. Great atmosphere and food. We enjoyed the desserts. The service was good as well. Just be weary, as the restaurant seems to be louder than other WDW restaurants just because the noise from the guests bounce off of the aquarium glass.

My family and I really didn't like the Garden Grill at all the food just is really not our thing. We all really like the Coral Reef and since characters are not really an issue I would go with the Coral Reef and the aquarium will keep her plenty occupied

Neither! :rotfl:

Seriously, though, probably Coral Reef. Kids love the aquarium. But be prepared for the slowest service in all of the world! We ate there last week and it took 20 minutes for dessert to come out (when it had only taken 25 for appetizers and the entree combined) and another 25 just to pay the check. This is the third time we have had this issue there, and in my book, 3 strikes and you are out!

Coral Reef is my favorite WDW restaurant - we've always had excellent meals there and we love the aquarium view. Our son has been there the past 3 years (2, 3 & 4 yrs old respectively) - he really enjoys seeing the sharks, rays, giant sea turtle and other creatures swim by in the huge aquarium. We ate at Garden Grill once and will probably not return - the food was bland & unappealing and we didn't care much for the dated atmosphere. The character interaction at Garden Grill, however, was pretty good.

Another vote here for Coral Reef, especially if you have other character meals scheduled already! The atmosphere is unique, and I think the food is better than the reviews suggest.

Coral Reef definatley has the better food in my opinion. I had go there.
