Coral Reef for Kids?

Our first trip is at the end of this month. We have an 1140am reservation for Coral Reef on our second Epcot day. We are doing Garden Grill breakfast on the first day. Will younger kids (almost 6 and almost 3) enjoy Coral Reef? We have the dinning plan, so will they bring my 2 year old her own plate to share off of ours? Is there another Epcot table service I should look at instead?

ETA: Would Cape May dinner be better? We are planning to walk over to the Boardwalk that evening for trick or treating anyway.

My kids ate there at ages 3, 5, and 6. They are big into ocean life and loves the tanks. The food was good and they for cute cupcakes for dessert.

IMHO, any of the EP resort restaurants would be better for dinner. Coral Reef is just ok. If you go to Cape May, you can get your 2 year old anything you want from the buffet.

I love coral reef and am taking my 8 year old there on our next trip. I think it is an enthralling restaurant for kids and 11:40 is close enough to first seating that you can show up early and request a table close to the tank - if not right on it you should be able to get pretty close to it. I'm sure they would bring you an extra empty plate to share with your 2 year old.

We took our 2 year old for lunch at the coral reef. We weren't that thrilled with the service. The food was okay, but I was a little weird about eating fish while watching them swim...
The service issue was that they wanted to sit us way in the back, pretty far from the fish.
With a toddler at a sit down lunch this would mean only one of us would get to eat because little Lilo would be downstairs with her face pressed against the glass. My husband argued until they sat us at one of the open tables down front.
I didn't realize that this would be an issue when we made the reservation so I am passing on this info. Not all tables are equal.

No, not all tables are equal. True. We were lucky enough to be seated right next to the tank. My kids were 5 and 9 when we went there. They loved it. You shouldn't have a problem!

Not every party can be seated right at the tanks, it's not a realistic expectation. Even with a floor seat, small parties might be a table away from the tank. Larger parties might be seated across the aisle in booths. Some diners need to be seated on the second or third tier simply by restaurant design. While a toddler might not be able to be reasoned with, the upper tiers do provide a better overall view.

We don't have kids, but we really like Coral Reef. We have eaten once on the top level and once at a tank side seat. Both were really enjoyable. The problem with the tank side seats are that you have other people and kids hovering right around you while you eat looking at the tank.
