Coral Reef Advice

We just booked ADRs for Coral Reef...any suggestions or comments on the restaurant would be greatly appreciated. I have heard the restaurant is not as enjoyable unless you actually have a tank side table. Any advice on how to secure a good table? Can we request ahead of time?

Actually, some people prefer being away from the tank since you can see more and you don't have kids crowding you trying to get to the tank. That being said, make an early ADR, arrive early for that ADR, ask for a tank-side table, and tell them you don't mind waiting. You still may not get it, but it's worth the try. As for other advice, be sure to try the Chocolate Wave, one of WDW's best desserts. Some will complain about the food there, but we've found it to be tasty and just the right-sized portions for us. . .then again, we eat an appetizer or salad, all our veggies, and have wine with our meals.

Hi! I just got back and we indeed ate there. You can really get any table in there as it is a tiered area and the tank surrounds nearly the entire restaraunt walls. Here is a hint...they feed the fish at 1 pm, nothing gory, just you get to see the diver in there. Its cool for the kids. The steaks are good, service is a bit slow.

It is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is excellent, as is the service. There was a diving class in the tank while we were there ...or one of the diving tour groups...so that was great fun.

We were tankside, but had no problem with other people's children crowding around. Actually, you can get a good view of the tanks from most of the tables. However, if you want to be sure you have tankside, arrive early, ask, and be prepared to wait (tell them you don't mind). No, you can't request it ahead of time.
