A controversial 60 Minutes segment, about a top security prison in El Salvador, was pulled at the last minute from broadcast but a few stations in Canada managed to air it. Using copyright privilege CBS ordered that the segment, including Facebook copies, be removed from public access.

Disney did the same thing, use its copyright privilege, to try to keep its film Song Of The South out of public access and viewing.

Splash Mountain has since received a total facelift. Not because parts of Song Of The South were contained within and now considered more racially sensitive than before but rather because Disney wanted to redo the ride with characters more familiar to more of today's guests.

CBS will probably create more publicity/awareness due to the controversy around not broadcasting that segment compared to if it had actually aired as scheduled.

Once something is put on the internet, it's there permanently. Trust me there's ways to still watch it.

As a retired Journalist it is disturbing how this story was pulled. It has generated more attention to the story's content than if it had been allowed to run.
I have watched it, and to be honest I saw nothing in it that was not reported when Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem toured the facility in March. This is not some secret facility, they welcome the press routinely for tours, and even have given YouTubers tours.
Bari Weiss blew it.

I agree-less talking about it would creat less interest in seeking it out to view.

even before the internet existed if something was out there on a viewable medium people could still find a means to access it. the example of 'song of the south' that was given-it was'nt released on home video in the u.s. (but it was elsewhere) so that hasn't stopped some of us from getting it (I personally have a stunning copy complete with f.o.h. lobby cards).

I won’t post the clip here, but if you want to watch the segment, it’s been posted on the Controversial Topics board a few times.

If the link someone posts points to a site no longer available, then you still won't be able to watch it.
