Is a copy of the kid's birth certificate ok or does it have to be the one with the raised seal to redeem you GAD voucher? I want to make sure I take the right one.

Thanks :thumbsup2

Straight from the GAD FAQ website...

What do I need to bring to the theme park to redeem my voucher?

To redeem your ticket at a Walt Disney World® or Disneyland® theme park, you must bring a valid photo ID along with your voucher. Valid ID is one of the following: valid Government Issued Passport, valid Driver's License including a photo, or valid Government Issued Photo ID. For children under 18 who do not have any of the previous listed IDs, a copy of a Birth Certificate is acceptable. School IDs or children security IDs are not deemed Government Issued Photo IDs and will not be accepted. Please note: the Guest whose name is on the voucher must be present at the time of ticket redemption (for example, parents cannot redeem tickets for their children in their absence.)

We used ours about a month ago. Turned the vouchers in at the TTC. I had copies of the kids' BCs with me. The CM at the booth looked very distressed and was telling me that I needed the originals. I said they were in MA and that the rules had stated copies were all that was needed. He said he would have to call his supervisor. The call took all of 3.5 seconds and we were fine. :confused3 I'm thinking we just had a confused or overzealous CM. You should be fine. :)

We have used 3 kids' vouchers this trip and used a copy of the birth certificate each time with no problems. I did, however, make a color copy rather than a B&W and they look just like the originals, just no raised stamp.

It says right on the voucher "if under 18 you can instead bring an original or a copy of a birth certificate"

I have copies I received from the Dept of Health Services or such of my DSs' birth certificates. When I make scans of them and print it says in red "Unauthorized copy". In B&W copy it also shows. Do you think Disney will care? I hate to bring my only copies and then lose them.

I just visited the park on the 15th. We were in Flagstaff and decided to drive to Disney and use our tickets. I didn't have my sons birth certificate, and I was really worried I would have to buy the ticket. I think I might have been lucky with the ticket lady I got. I told her I didn't have it, she told me it was fine as long as I have something with his name and birth date on it. I just gave her his insurance card. She barly glanced at it and printed his ticket! I got the impression she was used to people not having the birth certificates. Im sure you will be fine with a copy of the certificate.

Same here. anyone know the answer?
