Not only is the search inactive (which is not such a major problem... it used to not work right for a decade, or so) but the "copy" function within the message window is not operating.

WITHIN the message window (if I'm in the message compose mode, copy and paste do not work.)

I use that all the time.

Hope things get fixed soon!

Worked for me? Maybe I am doing it wrong. I just highlight the text I want to copy, hit "control C" then paste it into the quote button.

I admit, I've never tried to copy multiple posts.

It's the Copy Multiple Posts function that doesn't work. Yes, you can copy & paste, but you lose the link back to the original post. And unless you copy & paste into a Word document and then back into a Reply box, you can't do multiple quotes.

It's very annoying. Especially for someone like Robo who responds to everyone's questions!

"Paste it into the quote button?"

I've never heard of that, nor does that work for me at all.

I generally "copy" a section of text, then "paste" it where I want it to appear, then "highlight" the text, then click on the quote button.

That's the only way that it has ever worked for me.

And, as I said, the "copy" and "paste" functions simply do not work correctly...

Has not workedl for me since the notice of the "search" being inoperative has appeared.

Looks to be some major software changes that are negatively affecting the boards.
Very strange.

BTW, I use two different Mac computers and an iPhone.
The functions are faulty on all units.

Well, actually NO it didn't.

Do you see that "- See more at: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=47665440&posted=1#post47665440"
at the end of the line that you quoted from my post?

THAT's one of the very odd things that pop onto a the end of a quote.

(That "connector link" should be hidden within the little icon
directly to the right of the name of the
quoted person when things are working correctly.)

I guess that I'm not understanding the issue.

Copying and pasting while replying seems to work the same as it always has. The same goes for responding to multiple posts.

Yes, I hope they fix this, the search issue and update the actual crowd levels soon. Robo... Maybe they need to hire some more people, you should apply ;) ha!!!

The first quote block is me hitting "quote" in a reply.

The second is me copying and pasting the same information from the clipboard. As Robo says, it's not suppressing (or it's adding) the link-back to the source of the copy/paste.

Robo -- I just figured it out -- it's so people can see from where you copied/pasted the information.

In other words, it's not a bug -- it's a feature! ;)

I think I've traced the problem to the Safari Browser.

When I run the DISboards with Firefox, "copy and paste" works fine.

Whatever changes the DIS folks made in the board software is incompatible with Safari
(or at least Safari running on Mac OS and iOS.)

I'm using Firefox v19, but it's not doing it today.
