I'll start by saying I know this is subjective! However, we have only ever traveled as adults only and now we will have a 2-year-old with us. So I am looking for some insight on the best resort with a toddler. My husband and I and our little one will be staying with my parents (2 adults in their 60's) in a 2 bedroom. We are renting points. We have previously stayed at Pop, AKL savannah view, and SSR.

For this 7 night trip, we are only thinking of doing 2 park days, so lots of time to spend at whichever resort we choose. I am thinking one day at MK and one at AK. So at BCV we will be using the bus both days and thus the close proximity of BCV to EP and HS isn't beneficial, but due to spending less park time, we think the boardwalk area has more to offer than CCV including the stormalong bay. I've read the pool can be overwhelming, but is that true at this young age? We would be with him 100% of the time. I think he would also like to ride the boat and Skyliner just for fun and we could stroll the boardwalk too. We do like the smaller feel of CCV and being able to take the boat to MK. Please share any thoughts! Thank you in advance :)

We have stayed at both resorts,Beach Club is one of our home resorts actually. We have always loved the BCV for the pool and area as you described.I think for a two year old, they will just enjoy being in any pool and not necessarily even notice the lazy river sand bottom pool. Being able to stroll the boardwalk is fun and they used to do movie nights down by the water.not sure if that’s back yet. Prior to COVID we stayed at CCV and they are beautiful, enough room room for all, fireplace and screened in porch. We are all adults at this stage and spend quite a bit of time at resort for work as well and we loved it,we do venture out everyday though to go into parks for few hours or dinner. Not as much food options,if comparing to boardwalk area.I would think if you don’t have a rental car and to have most options BCV is your best option.

My first trip to BC will be this spring so I really can't compare. My kids are a tad older now, but we stayed at CC when both were about your child's age. They both LOVED seeing MK from the boat ride. It was so cute. It's also so beautiful at Wilderness Lodge, and they do have a fun splash pad area.

I will say we stayed at Boardwalk over the summer and my kids also loved that. The skyliner was a hit to ride, but we did 2 days at Epcot and everyone enjoyed the proximity. I can see since you aren't planning that park, it isn't an issue for you. At the time, the Boardwalk area was nice, but not a lot was going on for entertainment. In our case, the kids would be going to bed earlier anyway.

Personally I would do Copper Creek first and do a Boardwalk area when they are older. Like you said, all depends on your preference.

I will plug CCV here.

1. Electrical Water Pageant!

2. The geyser.

3. Boat to Magic Kingdom.

4. Boat to Contemporary (grab a character meal).

5. The toddler splash play area at CCV is very fun at that age.

6. The Geyser Point Pool has a zero entry area.

The lounges at CCV are very nice for the adults. The theme in the main lobby is fun. You don't have to walk nearly so far from a villa to the pool area most suitable for a 2-year old, or haul the adults through the lobby in swimwear.

The sand bottom area at BCV is nice at that age, but add in swim diapers and it's actually kinda gross to consider with the artificial sand. The little slide for kids is a weird walk around.

Ahhh this is why I am so torn!! I’ve read that stormalong bay is tough when kiddos are a bit older so was thinking about getting BCV in now and next time do CCV but I just keep going back and fourth.

The area better for toddlers is on the Yacht Club side of Stormalong Bay. So it will be a bit of a hike from BCV to that area.
That is really helpful to know! Any insight into how far the CCV kids pool/splash area is?

I’ve stayed at both and own at CCV. With your itinerary, I’d go with CCV. Like you said, EP and HS proximity have no advantage for your trip. BCV seems very old and run down. I also think Stormalong Bay is overrated. With CCV, you’ll also get the BRV pool as well. Then throw in the proximity of MK and Ft. Wilderness, it has everything you need for a more resort stay trip. The restaurant selection at CCV is also much better.

Apples and oranges really. While I love both resorts, I would go with BCV in your shoes for location. Even though Epcot and HS isn't in your itinerary, the proximity to other resorts with more transportation options makes BCV a bit more advantageous. You're also closer to Disney Springs. My little kids loved both resorts for different reasons. They loved the friendship boats and skyliner at BCV. But they also loved the boats from WL to MK and the other Monorail loop resorts as well. Can't go wrong with either.

How does your 2 year old handle noise and crowds? One thing we love about the WL over BCV is that it's much more peaceful, and we have rarely had to deal with crowds at the pool, unlike with BCV. And there's far fewer non-resort-guests going through WL than BCV. If lots of noise and people don't bother your toddler, then BCV is fine, but WL is smaller and more peaceful.

The toddler sandy area at SAB is closer to the Yacht Club side, and it's also a bit separate from the main lazy river and pool area, so unless all the family wants to be at the toddler pool area, you all won't be together while at the pool in SAB. That said, if your toddler loves playing in the sand, the Beach Club is a win!

We've stayed at both, and love both for different reasons (and own at CCV & BRV), but for a toddler, I personally prefer the Wilderness Lodge, but when the kids were a little older (6-8 range), Beach Club was the place to be for our family.

Not to throw your plans for a complete loop - but - in my opinion - the best splash areas for toddlers are at AK Kidani and VGF -

I agree! And good point. But we’ve all enjoyed AKL before and VGF is a bit out of price range. That is how we landed on these two options.

Couldn't tell if anyone answered you, but the kids' area is right next to the main pool. So, Copper Creek is part of the main building and depending on which part of the hall you are in, it's a short walk either way or to either pool. I like how they have the little outdoor drink/snack area and Geyser Point all near each other - much smaller feeling and more convenient IMO.
