Copper Creek Villas & Cabins Opening July 2017

If you can view this link it is here under the room descriptions that I saw a single picture of the cabin and the GV interior as well as it showing the studio and the master for the 1BR.

Or here are the pictures - not real high quality.

Actually I really love the look of the grand villa and cabins.

For those disappointed that the Studios and 1BRs sleep 4, it's hard to see how they could add another bed given the size of the hotel rooms used for the conversion. Looking at the floor plan for the 2BR lockoff, the connecting door between the Studio and 1BR is at the end of the living area. That is where they put the sleeper chair in the Jambo House conversion but in that case, the connecting door is in the entryway or near the kitchen. In this case, a sleeper chair would block the connecting door.

The rooms look narrow and there doesn't appear to be enough room in the Studio for a Murphy bed with attached camper table like they used in BWV and VWL. It looks like there wouldn't be enough space to walk between the queen bed and the table when the Murphy bed was closed and would perhaps be a fire hazard at night with the Murphy bed open.

It looks like the Master Bedroom will have a wardrobe instead of a closet.

The connecting door location is one of the most disappointing aspects - that location has always been considered one of the poorer designs for BWV and VWL. The odd thing is that like PVB there were many reports that Disney had everything stripped out of the wing and if true they could have changed the configs from the hotel room size should they have wished too. As it is though the hotel rooms were some of the smallest, if not the smallest, deluxe rooms and it looks like these follow the same footprint.

Looking at the floor plan for the 2BR lockoff, it looks like they did the same here as they did with the Jambo House conversions: Strip each hotel room to the bare concrete walls but leave those walls intact other than where they needed to add a doorway between the living area and bedroom to make a 1BR or needed to close off an exterior entrance into the master bathroom area.

Indeed... those look much better than the original studio pic. I will wait to get to my computer to get a higher res pic, as I'm trying to do this on my phone...

Just noticed that the description of the 1BR villas lists a "Full bathroom with whirlpool spa". Given what happened in the BCV refurb, I was wondering whether they would put a whirlpool tub in Copper Creek and it appears that they did!

Howard Johnson's. NOT Pacific Northwest. Great construction job. Interior design? Total FAIL. Room by IKEA? No way.... :).

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

We have been turned off by the look and awkwardness (for us ) in studios that now fit 5, so I am happy to have such a beautiful option for a studio for me and DH. We book studios for ourselves about 1/2 the time.

Any predictions on when bookings will open? I will for sure try to change my October trip if they open soon.
I'm thinking the same. We are down for two weeks in October disneyregulars. Possible dis meet? Our kids are the same age.

We'll be there Columbus Day weekend. Happy to meet up, especially if it's around a swimming pool so my beast can have someone to play with.

Did you guys see the starting dues?? $7.33...Seems very high.
Yep. We were going to buy a fixed week, which my guide says will be offered eventually, and even still would have with the $176pp (though was hoping for $160-170pp and the fixed week we want is 118 points so the incentives they are offering on 150+ doesn't help us) but then we saw the dues. That's more than my HHI dues which went up to cover for the hurricane repairs. These dues are only less than Vero Beach...Vero Beach which many folks turn away from buying because of the dues. On another site folks are doing the math and the costs are making CRO (rack rate) look okay. I just can't get past the dues.

I like the looks of it, the décor. I like that the studios only sleep 4 (hate that dang fold away table bed). I am cool with smaller kitchens as we don't cook. I like the cabins (two sided fireplace and a hot tub). LOVE that the point charts are the same as the old VWL. I want to stay in the Lodge for Xmas. Sigh...really wanted to buy here.

It's pretty disappointing to me. Colors aren't right (they do mention the bright interior so it was intentional IMO and the wrong direction IMO). The Cabins and GV's seem better though however in the GV picture the furniture is again too modern but they at least used darker woods.
Well I was thinking of changing my reservation fromBRV to CCV, BUT, not happening now. Absolutely do not care for the decor at CCV. I am staying put with my VWL1 reservation over on the quiet side.

I think one bedroom capacity at 4 is a big mistake. What do all of you think?

It is surprising to me that the studio sleeps four, when the recent trend has been to include a Murphy bed, so that an additional guest can be accommodated. Unless the inclusion was difficult because of the square footage, why would Boulder Ridge studios feature one, but the soon to open Copper Creek omit it?

Wondering if overall occupancy levels (fire code) may have come into play with keeping 1 BR @ 4 max?

If anything I welcome a few less bodies in the common areas/pool

Haven't read if pool hopping will be permitted (Please say no lol).
