Hi ! I’m happily booked at a deluxe studio at CC ! So happy beyond words to get back to WDW . My question is regarding the alternative studio I’ve been reading about! This is the first I’ve heard of them and they are intriguing me ??? What is the deal with them. what are my chances of getting one? Are all the CC studios on the courtyard side of the “old hotel part”? I only found them when researching how to get a room where I could hear the boats

Alternative studios are not a bookable category and are luck of the draw. There are less than 10 of them. Each one is just an expanded studio (they kind of look like a mini one bedroom), due to the layout of the room. You can request one, but there are no guarantees. Enjoy!

Above is true and CC is on the right hotel side of WL (if looking straight on from main entrance). They are hotel rooms converted to "DVC."

I've also read if you want a chance at an alternative studio, you must book the Deluxe Studio option only. The Deluxe Studio with Walk In Shower will not be an alternative studio. Whether this is accurate or not, I don't know. But I did see that on different sites.

You are correct, and if you don't get the alternate studio, you will be on the ground floor.

Oh thank you ! I wasn’t aware the studios were on the ground floor. I typically like a higher floor for any resort stay! Theoretically if I request a higher floor that may bolster my chance at scoring one of the alternate studios. Regardress I’ll be back at Disney lol so anywhere is good!

Depends on what is most important. If you prefer a high floor, book the deluxe studio with walk-in shower. If you require a tub, it's either the ground floor or the luck of an alternate studio.
