I agree with you completely. We love AKL for the kids and BLT for the parks. We love taking friends and try to get BLT just because we love the layout of the 2br and the location. We did just stay at POLy and I was very surprised how easy it was to get into Magic Kingdom from there. When we first purchased DVC @ AKL we stayed all the time when the kids were small. since then we mostly only stay at BLT and Key West depending on if they invite friends. location really plays into the BLT stay
We always need a 2BDRV. But I can't wait till Labor Day both kids will be out of the house and we are going to do a long weekend May look into Poly as would be our only time staying thereI agree with you completely. Is it bad I look forward to when my kids are out of the house so I can use my points for studios? We always need a 2BDRV. But I can't wait till Labor Day both kids will be out of the house and we are going to do a long weekend May look into Poly as would be our only time staying there
I don't know. I've never met your kids.Is it bad I look forward to when my kids are out of the house so I can use my points for studios?

This is us! Studios are only when we’re short of points, and then we end up complaining so much that we’ve realized we’re better off staying fewer nights in a 1BR.Our kids are out of the house and we always get a 1 bedroom. Can't do without the washer/dryer and the full refrigerator (especially the freezer part). We stayed in a studio just once, when we were short on points and didn't want to borrow. It was terrible because I spent more time B----ng and Moaning about all the things I missed, rather than relaxing and having a good time.
Which resort would Jerry like the best? When we first purchased DVC @ AKL we stayed all the time when the kids were small. since then we mostly only stay at BLT and Key West depending on if they invite friends. location really plays into the BLT stay
You are right. The dues you pay go towards operations of the resort you own. So if you own at a resort with low dues and stay at a resort with high dues, you're really coming out ahead!Am I correct that every year you pay dues based on the resort(s) you own at, not based on where you stay? That's what DH and I thought when we bought in. And that's why, when we decided that we didn't like staying at the resort we'd bought at, and that we did love another DVC resort, we sold our contract at the first and bought at the second because DH didn't want to pay our dues to a resort he didn't go to. He likes the idea if "Well are they refurbishing our resort/fixing the pool/the [whatever]?" Are we thinking entirely wrong?
We also own at Copper Creek. Although we've stayed at all of our home resorts, we like to try to get to as many of the other DVC resorts as we can. If you don't mind split stays (our daughter actually loves them), it is a great way to try out different resorts.I have never been overly impressed with the resort though, granted I have never stayed there. We really like Riveria though which I didn't think I would like. Has anyone else never stayed at their home resort?
We own at BCV and although we DO enjoy staying there from time to time, we prefer the relative peacefulness and atmosphere of BRV and stay there far more often than anywhere else lol ! When we bought dvc about 20 years ago, we could have had VWL instead, but since we live in New England and camp we wanted palm trees not pine trees on our Florida vacationWe own at BRV and haven't stayed there yet. Had it booked for this February but at the 7 month mark saw that Copper Creek was available and there was no word on the refurb so I switched to CC. Figures a few weeks later the refurb was announced but BRV wasn't available. Oh well! Looking forward to a Christmas time visit.
