My wife and I will be going to Disney next January for our 25th anniversary and are wanting to stay at the cabins or treehouse for the first few nights as we have never stayed in eithier one. For those that have stayed in one or both any recommendations? Are they quite and secluded? Are they hard to get 7 months out? We will be driving there so Saratoga being spread out doesn’t bother us if that’s an issue. Thanks for any help.

I think the cabins are just nicer than the treehouses. The little whirlpool in the screened in porch is so special. There’s a fireplace to enjoy, and you’re going during the time of the year that you can use it!

We have had two short stays in a cabin, so it’s possible to get one at 7 months.

We have stayed in a treehouse, maybe three times, and they are nice. The small pool that is in the treehouse section was rarely used except by us when we stayed. These stays were long ago when you could stay in one for the same point cost that a SSR two bedroom was.

Happy Anniversary!

I haven't stayed, but I toured both, the cabin is way upscale of the tree house in terms of amenities. It is also way more expensive in terms of point cost. 2 and a half times more points per night at the cabin vs the tree house. Both are often available at the 7 month point. They both feel secluded, but the cabins are much closer to transportation than the treehouses.

I think there are fewer Cabins and they are proving to have some popularity even with the high point charts. I'd guess though that they have a decent chance of availability in January - depending on when in January. Over Marathon weekend or Martin Luther King might have an affect. There are more THV's and I'd think they would be available at 7 months the entire month.

We've had one stay in each of them. Given the choice - the Cabins without question. But we really liked the THV too. Fireplace and private hot tub at the Cabins. They are really quite different from each other except for the fact they are stand alone units.

Is it a long wait for the internal buses that run the treehouse area?

I think they ran every 30 minutes or so? They make 2 stops in the Treehouse loop and take you over to the Springs bus stop at SSR by the Carriage House. There's also the boat to get to the Carriage house and it's an easy walk as well.

If you can spare the points, cabin is more elegant. THV are very nice and technically the cheapest 3 bedroom on property, but one room is bunk beds and no king bed in the master and only sleeps 9, same as most 2 bedrooms. They cost slightly more than a 2 bedroom.

The cabins are really remarkable. You do feel secluded and the design is amazing! There’s lots of space in the main living area to spread out, and the hot tub is a fun benefit. I love the screened porch and the ability to eat on the outside table in the patio. The ability to enjoy the fireplace both inside and outside is fun. Having a cup of coffee in the morning and watching the boats drive by is serene (to me). I think that the master suite is extremely well designed with a lovely shower and a nice bathtub.

I have never stayed in a treehouse but I’ve seen some pictures online. These seem relatively secluded as well.

Happy Anniversary!

Haven't did either but I would stay at the cabins if I wanted to use all my points, which I don't.

Thanks for all the replies. We are going to hopefully stay 3 night in a cabin. 10 months away and already excited about it . Downside is we will be spoiled and want to stay in one every visit after wards but guess we can always add on more points 😁

We had the treehouse literally right next to the quiet pool, every night after the parks we had that to ourselves, it was like our own personal pool. I think we saw one other person use it the whole week. Alas, this was a long time ago in 2012, back when Disney was still Disney....

So do I understand that at the Treehouses, it takes you two buses to get out of the resort? Also, how far is the walk to QS? Is there a significant difference in the # of points needed for the Cabins vs the Treehouses? I'm just a little concerned about the Cabins because when I took a tour of them on my ECV, the hallways were really tight. I wonder if the halls in a HA cabin are wider. Has anyone here ever stayed in a HA cabin?

You have to take the Treehouse bus which drops you off at the Springs and then that is where you get the buses to wherever else you're going. I had tracked the distance if you just walk over to the Springs stop, or you could go to the Grandstand stop which is even closer but it's the 1st to pick up for the parks so you ride around the entire SSR resort. However it's been awhile and I don't recall exactly how far. Something like 8-10 minutes walk to get all the way to the Springs stop? It would be nothing with a scooter though.

I had done research on the THV HA in case we ever wanted to try and stay there with my sister but haven't ever been in one. I'm guessing since you use a scooter and not a wheelchair that you're just looking to bring it in and park it? In the THV the entry is right into the living area so that's different from the Cabin.
