Hi everyone! Need help deciding what cabin to request. Any and all help/pics would be appreciated. We have a friend who will be staying in a studio so want it somewhat close to the lobby but would like a nice view of fireworks or maybe water parade. Don't know what cabin or side to request. Thanks in advance!!

Hmm that would mean that you want cabin 8013-8016. No real fireworks view on that side but close to the BR quite pool and the Teton boat & bike rental building. This group would also be close to all activities and Geyser Point (dining) and a view of the Electric Water Pagent (EWP) nightly.

Your friend is staying in which building CCV or BR?

CCV is part of the main lodge building and BRV is right by the 8013-8026 section of cabins. I have attached a map of the WL resort that will help you get your bearings.

Thanks so much for your help! Our friend is staying in a studio at copper Creek. My husband just mentioned he wanted to stay on the other side so 8001-8012. Any cabin requests out of those and what are the benefits to staying on that side? fireworks and close to boat launch? Thanks again!!

FWIW, stayed in 8007 last year, which is on the "other side" of the resort from the set of cabins that PP mentions. There wouldn't be any EWP view from these, but some will have 'possible' views/glimpses of fireworks. BUT - there are a ton of trees on the shore, on that island right in front, etc - so any fireworks view is going to be partly/mostly obstructed, if you have any view at all. Our cabin just happened to have a pretty good window of a more direct view in the direction of the castle. This was during the holidays so you can see a couple of examples of the castle "bursts" below.

Access to the main entrance is very quick via a side entrance on the same level as Roaring Fork, as was a small parking lot just for these cabins.

One thing I didn't love about this side - the "back" side of the WL main lobby building (the service entrance) is somewhat unsightly and has loud exhaust fans that run pretty much constantly. While this is not an issue at all from inside the cabins or while enjoying the porches, you do notice it coming/going to the cabins on the path. I will note this is a rather minor detail/observation, just something that bugged me a touch. It's one of two parts of the resort grounds where the audible real world intrudes on an otherwise incredibly peaceful and serene environment.

I'd like to try the "other side" someday just to see what it's like over there to have comparison, but overall we liked this spot.

Hope that helps!

We stayed in 8011. It was really close to the boat dock. My kids liked waving at the people in the boats. It was very close to the main lodge as well. I don't think any are a great view of fireworks.
While we were there, we went on walks to both ends. It is a decent walk. We requested to be on the far end near 8026 on our next trip. We don't mind being far out.

We also stayed in 8007 (last August) and I second your comment about the service entrance. My DH and I commented on the same thing while we were there! Like you, we still really enjoyed staying there, though.

Did your husband give a reason for wanting the north side cabins?

As PPs have mentioned several of the cabins suffer from location noise from the main lodge mechanical and service areas. The views are also impacted by the island which creates a narrow channel for the resort boats to MK and their horns can be disruptive in the mornings and evening.

The quietest cabins on the north side are 8001 - 8004. Cabins 8005 - 8006 share the Spitfire Flats Barbecue area which can produce unwanted noise and smoke.

Cabins 8009-8012 are closest to the transportation dock and a short walk to the main lodge if it is raining.

I think he liked the aspect of being able to watch the fireworks but after seeing comments I think I will request the other side. Maybe 8017? How far is the walk to lobby from there? Can you watch the water parade from your room? Thank you!!
