We are DVC members and we have a CC cabin reserved in September. My sister and her husband will be visiting and staying one night with us. They are not DVC members. My question is how can they access the gated parking lot for the cabins? And do we need to put them on the reservation? They are not Disney people, so they don't have magic bands. We thought maybe we should just meet them at the parking lot gate and use our access? Just don't want them to have to jump through hoops just to visit for one night. TIA!

Just a heads up - those lots are small, and I realize not everyone there has a car, but it is not guaranteed parking - after I checked in I went to park and the gate didn't recognize my magic band - I just pushed the call button and told them what cabin I was in and they let me in. It happened one other time as well so not necessarily the best system.

I think they can use Magic Mobile, i.e. the app on the smartphone or smartwatch to open the gate. I'm not sure, but the phone can replace MB for tickets, lighting Lane and opening the room door, so I guess they should be able to open the parking gate as well. Anyway, having the reservation in their app allows them to ask the guard to open it for them.

The pass on my watch does not work on my door to the room, even though it works for my ticket.

I've never seen anyone open a vehicle gate with anything other than a MB or plastic card placed directly in contact with and at a specific point on the pad (at the BCV main gate, they even have a little note taped to the pad with an arrow pointing to the EXACT spot you need to touch with your MB), and I wouldn't want to risk it at an unmonitored gate.
