Hi, All!

We are very excited to have 2-bedroom villa at Copper Creek booked for June for a trip with our grandkids (and their parents... 8-)). We have stayed at WL in a regular room and adored it, so I can't wait to have the extra space of a villa for our family. We are paying cash, with a military discount. The discount brings it down to not too much more than renting points would likely be, with of course much more flexibility, so I'm happy with that.

Does Copper Creek have both dedicated and lock-off 2-bedrooms? If so, does the fact that my booking says this mean I have a dedicated?

Any advice for which floor we should ask for? (I understand it is only a request.) Floor 2 is lobby level, is that correct? For the patios on Floor 1, can you walk straight out, to go to the pool? Or is it better to be higher, for views and quiet?

Thanks for any advice! So looking forward to a black cherry mule and brisket and chips at Geyser Point!

If it doesn’t say lock off, then it is dedicated. I can’t answer the rest.

Yes, it has both types of 2 bedrooms. Sounds like you have a dedicated 2 bedroom.

The pool view is pretty noisy during the day with pool games going on, but calms down at night. So if your grandkids need to nap it might not be ideal. Also, from the 5th floor facing the lake we had a limited view of fireworks. The only other view I've had was basically the roof/parking lot from a 1 bedroom tucked in a corner. But that one opened to the beautiful lobby at Christmas and was close to the elevators.

Remember that if you go out the sliding glass doors onto a patio at any resort, you cannot lock the door from the outside, so your entire group can't go out that way. I was on a higher floor, so I can't say if you can walk straight out from the patio or if there is landscaping which prevents you from doing so.

I could hear the Electrical Water Pageant from my room. It was extremely loud. Sorry I didn't write down my room number for you. (This was in 2018.)

That's kind of what I figured for the noise level, thanks. The youngest will be not quite 2, so will likely nap while the 6 and 4 year olds swim in the afternoon. I'm leaning toward requesting a higher floor.

Thanks! Great point about the sliding door.

Cash bookings are always dedicated units at resorts that offer them, as I understand it.

That would make sense to me, since there aren't two types of 2-bedrooms offered when booking a cash stay. I wasn't sure if you see two types when booking through DVC. Thanks!

Thanks to all, very helpful info! We will be happy anywhere, but it's nice to have a bit of knowledge to make a request.

we were on the top floor when we stayed on the villa pool side, balconies were inside the roofline and very private

Often the ground floor patios are surrounded by shrubbery or something else, so you can't just wander out the patio door to somewhere else on the grounds.

Actually you can at CCV. One of our favorite rooms at CCV has been a ground floor facing BRV. When the drink station was open it made for convenient access to grab coffee/drinks literally right from the room. We didn't get a great view however really decided we liked this perk.

We were on the first floor last week facing the pool, and we didn't really hear the pool all that much. Granted, we were in the parks most of the day and it was between mid-60's to low 70's for the high. Also, given that it's winter, and it got dark earlier, there weren't as many people in the pools at night.

The studios facing the CC pools had patios that had shrubbery between you and the pool. So, you'd have to cross through shrubbery. We liked it, because it also prevented people from getting into your patio. The pool entrance was pretty easy, as there are two exits along the hallways that lead you directly to the pool area.

I don’t believe there are any dedicated 2 bedrooms on the first floor. It is mostly studios..

Thanks, that's why I love this group! Great info. Looking at a planning site, it seems there might be one dedicated on Floor 1. I was leaning toward requesting a higher floor anyway, but that is helpful info.
