Coping with the pitiful kids meals

We are going in April and my DS who is 4 is not a picky eater by any means (and I am so thankful he's not). He likes everything from Sushi to Salmon. I think this time we will try and get 2 different adult meals and make him share with us. I tend to find that some of the adult meals offer a lot more food than I really need to eat anyhow. We won't be eating a lot of TS meals, but right now I have at least 2 buffet meals on our agenda and I know DS won't be content with what's offered but will also want to eat what we eat.

I did not fine that to be true for our TS meals. The entrees were not like going to the Outback. Where do you eat in Disney?

The kids meals are pretty limited, but I quickly realized that the issues with the menu were mostly mine, not the kids'. They didn't care if they ate mac'n'cheese and pb&j for five days straight! :confused3

Since it was a vacation we decided to let them order their favorites as often as they wanted. Of course, when we got home it was back to our regular routine!

This is a perfect example of why people who are considering DDP should really take a close look at it overall. It really is not for everyone. If you have an extremely picky group who will not be happy with they selections, it is not worth it.

ITA with the poster who explained the Pizzafari thing. If they offered a pizza on the kid's menu, everyone would order it! If the kid must have pizza, get one and take the kid's meal :confused3

IMHO, WDW does a pretty good job feeding the masses that it deals with everyday. I have one picky eater. When we would like to go somewhere that would not have something she would eat, I get something at CS that I know she would like and take it in with us.

When we went to San Angel, I walked over to the McDonald's place in between WS and FW and got her nuggets and fries. She ate them in San Angel and everyone was happy ;)

I had absolutely no problem with the kids meals, and my kids are not picky eaters, they are not mac n cheese and chicken nugget type eaters. The only places we really found that type of fare were the counter service locations in the MK. My girls ate pretty well, rotisserie chicken, salmon, steak, they both ate a ton at Teppan Edo, they loved it.
As far as Pizzafari goes, they could cut the stupid pizza in half for the kids meal, seriously can't anybody think outside the box anymore? If you are going to call it Pizzafari and not allow kids to order Pizza, you are bound to get some complaints! How does Pizza Planet manage?

...How does Pizza Planet manage?

Pizza Planet offers no kids menu, so adults can't order pizza for a kids price. Everyone pays the same price for the pizza.

DDP guests use a child's credits for an adults meal (with Disney's blessing). Those paying OOP Pay the adult price for their child's meal.

For counter service, we've always done a lot of sharing and we favor the places that don't have kids' menus (so the kids can order off the adult menu). Some of my kids' favorites have been Main Street Bakery (MK), Pizza Planet (MGM), Boulangerie Patisserie (Epcot) and Refreshment Port (Epcot. Ick, McDonalds, but it makes the kids happy while we get something better).
