I spend way too much time searching for ADRs...

I made a lunchtime ADR for the Candlelight Dining Package at Garden Grill. We have a 6:45pm Candlelight Show. I also made 8:15pm reservations for La Hacienda de San Angel. Will we be able to make it to this reservation? I read that the Candlelight show is about 40 minutes, but I don't know how long it takes to get out of there and walk to La Hacienda.

Also, is an 8:15pm reservation a good time for a 9:30pm Illuminations?

I've never seen an Illuminations show before, and after reading the Touring Plans article on it, I'm really nervous about keeping track of my kids in the crowds. I'm hopeful that dinner at La Hacienda will be a good place for us.

Any advice?

An 8:15 reservation should be good for 9:30 Illuminations, but be aware that you may not be seated anywhere near the windows. There is no viewing area for the restaurant, it's luck of the draw whether you get a table near the windows or not and there's no guarantee that a request for a window table will be accommodated (because everyone would be asking for window tables).

You'll have no trouble making your ADR. Getting out of the theater and walking over shouldn't take more than 15-20 min at the most.

As PP said, your problem will be Illuminations. I doubt you'll be finished with dinner before it starts, and it's highly unlikely you'll be seated where you can see it from within the restaurant as there just aren't that many window tables. If having a designated spot to watch Illuminations is your goal, you'll do better with Rose & Crown. Even if you're not seated in their outside seating, they have a private viewing spot their inside guests get to use. Spice Road Table is another option with viewing.

I'm not sure what in the article makes you nervous about keeping track of your kids. Illuminations has a much less crowded feel than the fireworks at MK or HS. Everyone is spread out around the lagoon, so most of the time the "crowd" where you are is only two rows deep, three at the very most.

Oh thanks! I'm so glad I checked. I was trying to use the recommendations from Touring Plans, but I'll trust personal experiences instead. Hmmm.. Wonder if my kids will eat at Spice Road? I was excited to see a mexican place because they love tacos.

"La Hacienda de San Angel in Mexico, the Rose & Crown Pub in the United Kingdom, and Spice Road Table in Morocco also have lagoon-side seating. Because of a small wall, however, the view isn't quite as good as from the Cantina."

Can someone tell me if this means they all have a small wall? Or just Spice Road?

Thanks!

Well La Hacienda does not have any outside seating. Spice road had some as does Rose and Crown. I would say spice road and rose and crown would be the best. I've also heard you can watch illuminations from Tokyo dining.

We watched Illuminations from Spice Road on our last trip. It was amazing! My kids loved the food, but we always eat in Morocco when we go to Epcot.
