The travel blanket Kevin mentioned in rapid fire in last week's show is now on sale from $30 to $25 on the travelsmith website.

I think I might need one of these for my upcoming Europe trip!
Thanks Kevin!!!

:thumbsup2. Once again, Kevin has recommended an awesome product.

Our opinion of the cleanliness of the sheets in a hotel is the same as the podcast team's, so we have 2 of the DreamSacks! We do not travel without them; they are the first items we pack. They are not hard to get back into the bags, either! Anyone who is uneasy about the condition of the bedding should give these blankets a try!!

Thanks for posting this! I just listened to the podcast today and was trying to remember the name of the website to order one. :thumbsup2

While you are ordering your coolmax blankets, take a look at the baggage bungee.

That has been my absolute favorite thing. I love it. I just bungee my laptop bag to the top of the suitcase so I'm not hauling that heavy thing around.

Prior to the bungee, I just hooked the laptop bag on as best I could and it always slipped off.
Since I got the bungee, no more slipping off.

And no - I'm not affliated with the company. :rotfl:

I ordered two more of the travel blankets.

The first one is black and now...the red and brown one are on their way.

I find them very useful and the fact that they fold up and go back in their little pouch makes the easy to use.

We'll have one for travel and one for each car.

After hearing Kevin talk about these on the podcast, I really want one of these blankets but I'm afraid I might not like the "feel". I like cotton and cotton-y textures. KWIM? I'm afraid I might not care for the CoolMax.
I guess I need to order one and see for myself.
Thanks for the heads-up on the sale!

A lot of athletic apparel is made of Cool Max. You can go to any sporting goods store and feel the fabric. :)

TMcDwyer - you just helped me big time.
I read your post and then I noticed in your signature that you are running the Princess (go get 'em!). I ran it last year! I realized that the shirt I got with my race packet was probably CoolMax. So I went and found the shirt and it says "100% polyester". Then I did a "what is coolmax" search and found that coolmax is a polyester fabric. Based on that and on how my race shirt feels, I don't think I'd care for the feel of the blanket.
So - thanks :flower3:

The blanket feels very much like an old well worn tshirt.

It has that cottony / silky feel of something you've owned for quite a while.

Again....I have no connection with the company selling this product.

I just think it's a good product...especially for this price.

On the plane...I used it as a blanket. I even put it over my head to make the plane darker to try and get some sleep. When it was rolled up, I used it as a neck support

In the hotel, I used it under me and over me.

I wore it as a scarf one day.

It could be used as a wrap/shawl or to cover a stroller for shade.

It could be used as a beach cover up.

As I said.....I've bought two more at the sale price.

I can pretty much guarantee that because of it's many uses, it's convenient size and the fact that it stows easily....I won't travel without one again.

It could be used as a makeshift picnic blanket

Thank you. You're the whole reason I want one! :) I listened to that podcast and knew there were lots of uses for the blanket.

I just have a "thing" about the feel of some fabrics, so I was concerned.

I saw on the TravelSmith site that first day what great reviews the blankets get, so I know it's obviously a great product.

Great idea to have one in the car, especially since they pack up so small :thumbsup2

Thanks again.

Kevin - Do you think it would fit over both of my kids laps on a plane if they were sitting next to each other? ( I am wondering if I should have ordered two...)

It's 50 by 70 inches.

It fit over John and I, but only over our upper bodies.

Using it all by myself, it cover toes to shoulders.

I would imagine that it would easily cover two kids side by side.

Listening to the podcasts has made me poor. Lemme see.... cruise - check, ABD -check, Keurig - check, travel blanket -- not yet ...but only because I'm not sure how much shipping is to Canada. :rotfl:

Well, I tell ya, it's kept me alive. :D I listen to the podcasts when I have to drive long distances (mostly for work) and it keeps me awake. (Last year, I managed to listen to about 8 weeks of podcasts in one drive!) And I gotta say that long drives means a lot of thinking on how to spend my money. :rotfl:

I ended up buying the blanket from a Canadian online store and ended up buying other stuff too (Eagle Creek packing system) and a bunch of neck pillows for an upcoming trip. That one little blanket led to all of these purchases.

See what I mean??? :rotfl2:

just bought this for my brother who has to go to India on business! I can't wait to hear how he likes it!
