i JUST SAW ON ANOTHER WEB SITE THAT SMALL COOLERS ARE ALLOWED IN ALL THE THEM PARKS EXCEPT THE ANIMAL KINGDOM. dOES ANYONE KNOW FOR SURE. i HAVE A SMALL BACKPACK COOLER AND NEED TO KNOW IF IT'S OK. I KNOW THEY LOOK LOOK ANY BAGS YOU CARRY IN. I MAY END UP TAKING IN A SMALL DIAPER BAG IF THAT WOULD WORK. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THANKS

Since when can you not take a cooler into AK? I've always taken a small one with me. My last trip doing this was in June. Anybody else heard of or experienced this rule?

I have always taken lunch and drink coolers into all 4 parks. Including AK as recently as this past August. We had no problem bringing in our lunch and drinks.

In all parks on our last visit I see no problem.:wave2:

If you read the FAQ at disneyworld.com it states that you may bring in manageable coolers. I would say as long as you can fit it in one of the small lockers, it should be ok.

I've actually seen families bring in coolers on wheels! WDW will not stop you, nor do they care what is in them, beyond alcohol in the MK.

However, Seaworld and US/IOA have rules prohibiting bringing food or drink into the park. I have seen small (individual lunch sized) coolers allowed in Seaworld, and I bring a large water jug.

I don't like US/IOA and haven't been there in a year (since the rule was enacted) so can't say how strict they may be.

The only FAQ I could find on coolers was for water parks.

Q. May I bring my own food and beverages in to the Water Parks?

A. Coolers of a size that may be safely carried are permitted. No glass containers or alcoholic beverages allowed. There are no storage areas for coolers.

I would be interested in seeing the FAQ you found.

I am sorry, you are right. It does say water parks, I just never noticed that before. Boy, do I feel sheepish  I have never taken a cooler in myself, we just stick everything in our backpack and stuff it in a locker. We've never had a problem with food spoiling, but then we always go between September and February.

No need to feel sheepish, I was just wondering if I had missed something. This is where we learn from each other. :)
