Just rec'd my doc for 8/23, my question is this...

It states no coolers allowed unless for medication. I thought everyone took rolling coolers on board with drinks for the week!

Any advice would be helpful!

Thanks!

Just cruised 7/19 Magic. I took a soft-sided cooler filled with 36 cans of pop. I decided to check this w/ my luggage, had no problem. Others had soft-sided coolers as their carry-ons.

If you need to bring a cooler, try to keep it small and count on dumping the ice if your not taking it as a carry-on. Roll-on's would be to big, especially since carry-on's have to be under a certain size ( small x-ray machine).

Porter Bob...

Can you tell us what size the carry ons need to be (inches x inches). Is it like the size you can take on a plane?

Thanks!

Can't remember the measurements off the top of my head. Can post on Sat.. I believe they are very similar to Airline regulations though

we plan on packing a collapsible soft sided cooler and drinks in another carry on --- we'll then unpack the cooler once in our stateroom, asking the stateroom attendant for ice, and then filling it with drinks & ice --- that of course then opens up a carry-on to fill with souvenirs as we depart the ship :)

Why don't you guys all buy drinks on the ship? Doesn't that make more sense?

Because in some instances, bringing stuff on board is cheaper than paying Disney prices ... also there are certain drinks (i.e. Diet Dr Pepper, Diet 7-Up) that are not available on the ship at all. :)

We are going to bring a few drinks on board...hubby likes to enjoy a Belgium beer in the evenings.

Now...does anyone know if they have started serving any michelob ultra on the ship yet?

webray - the wait-staff will serve everyone equally, including the Michelob family...

Sure if you like spending a whole bunch of money on something you could bring yourself for a fraction of the cost.

I weould throw a piece of advice in this as well. One thing you really, really don't need to bring is bottled water. Bring a container you can fill with ice and water right from your stateroom. The shipboard water right from any tap is equal to or better than most bottled waters. Those 'refillable' tall covered cups with a built in straw that most theme parks sell would work nicely. Pack 1 per person and you're set.
