Cool Take Homes....like popcorn containers, etc.??

My daughter and I are trying to figure out how to fit 2 of those Dumbo popcorn buckets into our luggage to bring home from our next trip! :lmao: We have a snowman Mickey one sitting here from 2 years ago. I should know those things never get used for anything ever again..... but I still must have Dumbo! :lmao:

I use my buckets to store extra Mr. Potato Head pieces and Cars diecast cars. I also have one in my bathroom cabinet that I use for storage. You can find a use for them and keep them on display :)

The Mickey Snowman popcorn container was easy to take home (just stuff it and wrap it in dirty clothes), but that Dumbo one might be a problem. The ears look like they'll snap off easily.

We're gunning for the Doofenslurper drink in a chemistry flask they were selling at Epcot in January. Could anyone tell us if it's still being sold there? Pretty please? ;)

Magic Kingdom: They also have the Jack Skellington Coffin popcorn bucket at the stand in Liberty Square. (This photo is from Disneyland where it's used a meal container, but it's the same bucket.)

Can anyone confirm that this is still there? My brother would love that!

We got the Doofenslurper 3 weeks ago. It was available at 3 locations in WS - Refreshment Port near Canada, Fife & Drum in the American Pavilion and the Outpost between China & Germany.

On the same trip we saw the Jack Skellington coffin at the popcorn cart near the Liberty Tree Tavern.

What other uses have you guys found for them once you get home? I once found an abandoned bucket when leaving Fantasmic! I figured it was pretty unlikely the owners would be able to come back for it or find it, and didn't want to see it get thrown away, so I kept it. But it's been sitting in a cabinet in the kitchen for a year now, just collecting dust. Would be nice to do something useful with it!

I use them as candy dishes on my desk at work. I rotate them out thru the holidays and I also have a couple from Disney on ice I use.

not sure if it's been said

but in HS at Sci Fi dine in my boys got a cup with a glowing ice cube in it - that you can take home. They love the ice cube- still use it in drinks at home.

I got one of these in March! It's a sipper cup (blue top with the Sci-Fi logo on it) and it comes with a glow cube.

Here is the cup with the glow cube inside while at Sci-Fi.

Here is the cup (without the lid or the glow cube):

Sci Fi Dine In at DHS has a cool glow in the dark cup. It comes with whatever drink you want and a glowing ice cube.

I have quite a few of the popcorn buckets and I have had the same problem of what to do with them after I get them home. I had two the same, got carried away collecting them, I guess, so I cut an "x" in the lid of one and we use that to throw all our change in for our next trip to WDW! When I counted it out, maybe 3 times, discovered that we had just over 150 dollars in just 8 months! Now I have the other one that I throw dollar bills into. I am anxious to see how much we will have by September's trip!

I got one in January of this year. I nearly died when I saw it. I didn't even want the popcorn, just the bucket. :lmao:

I use it to keep my pens in it at work. :)

haha yeah I don't want the popcorn either, I wish it came with a sandwich like at DL. We make popcorn at home that's worlds better than anything you can find at a park!

Thanks for the update everyone!:bitelip:

Definitely glow cubes. I try to take one home every year.

My friend spent her Disneymoon at Disney last June. They settled in having a cocktail at the end of the day every evening and got to know the bartender really, really well. On their last day, she handed them a box. When they unwrapped it, it was an entire boxful of them. She was overjoyed.

Pack things inside them and then lay them on one layer of clothes then pack around and on top of them so they are less likely to get crunched.

I have already asked DH who loves popcorn to please eat popcorn on our trip in October 'cause I want 2 of those Dumbo buckets. Not going to worry about how to pack it in luggage - will just take it to resort front desk & have it shipped home.

I think there was an earlier thread where someone said Dumbo's ears fold down or are removable for easier packing.
