After reading the thread about Jungle Jims, what are some really neat and different restaurants that our kids will enjoy. One Orlando guide says there are some unique McDonalds. There are 8 of us so we don't want places that will "break the bank". We are also staying at Indian Creek. and hitting Universal, IOA, Disney and Sea World. l

Have been and we all loved it. Real family friendly restaurant.

Having been to many in the area I have had all good experiences with our children. I have yet to say this is not kid friendly. I also have pretty well behaved kids also.

the big McDonald's on Sand Lake is not good. it's like a Chuck E. Cheese on the second floor of a McDonald's. and it's always filthy inside.

FYI, the McDonalds at Sand Lake and I-Drive is dirty and has really, really bad service (I'm talking Jungle Jim's level).

Plenty of places in City Walk (part of Universal)--Margaritaville, NBA City, NASCAR Cafe, Hard Rock Cafe, Bubba Gump's... There is no admission charge to eat, and parking is free after 6 (and you have to pay anyway if you are going to Universal).

There are also two Rain Forest Cafes at Disney, might be a good choice.

Bahama Breeze has a lot to look at (and great food besides), tho it is on the pricey end of the casual chain restaurants.

Hope this helps.

It would help if we knew ages of the children, but I can tell you where my kids have enjoyed:
- Joe's Crab Shack (servers all dance, it's loud, playground while waiting, decent prices)
- NBACity - 3DSs LOVE this place! Old NBA games shown on lots of screens, basketball games to play ($), NBA player handprints on balls - you measure your hand (CityWalk @ Universal)
- Margaritaville - tropical fun (CityWalk @ Universal) Parrothead mask menus for kids!
- Kobe - habachi set into table and the chef cooks right in front of you (makes a volcano with onion, etc.) Good prices if you go early
- Ale House - not too much for kids, but great prices (we're a family of 5), really good food, sports on many TVs, etc.
- Hard Rock Cafe - largest HRC - lots to look at and reasonable prices. DS13 collects drum sticks at every HRC and DS11 collects the "city" T-shirts. They have a club (All Access) you can join ($25) you get a $20 coupon, pins, a sling bag, priority seating and earn points when you use the card. For every 200 points ($200) you get a $20 credit - you also get $10 credit on your b-day. It's worked well for our family and you only pay once (not yearly). (CityWalk @ Universal)

I also highly recommend the Outta Contol Magic Show at Wonderworks - hilarious magic show, all the pizza/soda/beer/wine/popcorn you can eat/drink - we ordered tickets using Mousesaver's link to Ticketmania and also got passes into Wonderworks (like DisneyQuest) - about $20 adult, $15 kids! A great value for an evening's entertainment! This is close to Sea World.

Bahama Breeze is fun - but not cheap and we had a long wait. Join the Safari Club at Rainforest Cafe - priority seating, free appetizer and I think a discount. We aslo hit Taco Bell one night and fed our family (5 people) for $25 which gave our wallet a break!!

There are so many wonderful places to eat in Orlando!! We usually do 1 dinner at a Disney resort on a non-park day - expensive but worh it!

It's been several years since we went there, and it was awful then. The playground had a really bad smell.

Thanks for all the replys. We have three boys ages 10, 8 and 5. We plan on hitting Margaritaville on the day we are at Universal.

Oops, did not notice my daughter was logged in.

A few years since we were there, same as others have said, not a good place but worst thing I saw was everyone was being approached by timeshare reps while dining. The manegment must have known but nothing was said to them, Maybe they worked for the company.
I will never go back again.
