Cooks! Help me make this a slow cooker recipe

A Dutch oven is just a heavy, covered pot. The lid is curved so the condensation runs back into the pot. Mine's and enameled cast iron. Back to the recipe - I think you'd be better off using a big pot and following the recipe as written, or cooking the veggies in a skillet and then using a pot. It's hard to control a boil in a crock pot, especially when it's uncovered. If it continues to boil when you add the milk, the soup could be ruined. (Sounds like a great recipe!)

A dutch oven is a large pan that you cook in on the stove. At least that is what I have always thought it was! LOL! A slow cooker takes a few hours.

Don't use a slow cooker and don't worry about what a Dutch Oven is. Just use the biggest pot with a lid that you have and make the recipe as written. :)

Oh. Apparently nobody informed you of the newest rule. DISers seeking recipe assistance must then send a sample of the finished product to all the posters who provided advice. It appears you'll need to make another batch :teeth:.

Disclaimer A: This does not apply to me, since I didn't help. You only need to make and ship enough soup for the four DISers who did.
Disclaimer B: No, really, there's no such rule - but I bet they wouldn't mind if you sent them some anyway :)
