How do you get the meat to cook evenly with different sizes? We used stew meat instead of filet will it still be OK?

My husband tries to put like sized pieces of meat on each skewer. That way he can cook it evenly, pulling the smaller pieces off earlier than the larger ones.

I've never used stew meat or filet. I think the filet would be delicious, but the stew meat-I think it might end up tough. :confused3 I buy kabob meat at the Fresh Market (an upscale grocer with a fantastic meat counter) but I think it's either sirloin or chuck steak cut into cubes.

If I am using veggies, I cook them on a different skewer because they cook faster. I also use same sized cubes.

I like to marinate stew meat to tenderize it first. I also like the cubes to be of similar size so I do that according to each skewer. Beef Tenderloin is the best though.

You have to try and get all the pieces about the same size. Stew meat is alot tougher then filet so there is a big diffrence. You could marinate the stew meat before grilling. I buy a sirloin roast when they are on sale and cut it myself
