My dd wants a cooking party for her 4th birthday. So far I have

Make english muffin pizzas

Each child will frost and decorate a small cake (6" or 8" not sure yet) and I will put it in a (bakery box that they can decorate) for them to take home.

Aprons and chef hats from oriental trading

Any other ideas for games, etc.?

I don't really have any ideas, but that sounds like a great party!! I bet my DD9 would enjoy something like this for her next birthday!!

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread.

I had a chef party for my son's 7th birthday,

We made personal size lasagnas, I used the little mini bread loaf pans and a toaster oven, pre-cooked the noodles, had bowls of sauce and cheeses down an assembly line LOL,
while the lasagna cooked the kids made their own trail mix, I used mini to-go boxes like you get from chineese take out, pretzels, rasins, yogurt covered crasins, chocolate chips, peanuts, and a few cereals.
The kids also had cookies to decorate (and take home) And cupcakes which we ate after our lasagna.
We also made ice cream in ziplock bags, the kids LOVED it!

Each of the kids got an apron, my birthday boy had a chef coat and hat :) It was a really fun party!

For games we did a cake walk, for prizes we used cake mixes and cookie mixes.

and I made up a recipe bingo game each bing card had ingredients needed for a recipe and then I drew cards and who ever got all their ingredients first had bingo.

For a game, why not do an egg (plastic if indoors) on a spoon and try to race to the other side and pass off the egg to the next person. (relay race)

We just did this for my daughter on Friday. I bought pizza dough from Trader Joe's and they made their own mini pizzas. We then made Red Velvet Cupcakes which they decorated after they had cooled. It was also a sleepover, so we made muffins for breakfast.

I was just going to let you know that Michaels has cloth chef hats in their "dollar aisle". Of course, the hats weren't a dollar - I think they were $3 each. They were nice hats with velcro to adjust to the kids head. I also bought child size aprons at Hobby Lobby - I think they were $3 each.

We did this years ago for a DD birthday. It was a huge success. I sewed the hats and apron and wrote the kids' names on with fabric paint. Besides the cooking (we had chicken drumsticks and I don't remember what else), we played "pin the rolling pin on the chef" and other kids games changed to a cooking theme.

If they are taking the mini cakes home, maybe another dessert for the party to eat after the pizza??

I have done chocolate pizza with kids and it is soooo fun. Use cookie dough for crust (bake first) , chocolate icing for sauce and all kinds of sprinkles and candies for toppings!

We are having a birthday cake so I think that would be overkill...good idea though!

Thanks everyone :)

I did this for DD's 5th birthday because she wanted to be a chef. She will be 12 next month and still wants to be a chef!

We did personal pizzas, decorated cupcakes, mixed trail mix, and they got little "cookbooks" of the things we made in their treat bags. I got the aprons from oriental trading and let them decorate them with fabric paint. I made a birthday cake shaped like a chef's hat. The party invitations looked like recipe cards and said she was "Cooking up a party".

Have fun!
