Cooking in your hotel room

I was surfing some Youtube for single serve coffee maker reviews and ran across some "cook a meal in a hotel room videos" and well, I thought of THIS FORUM!

I stopped using the coffee pot and glasses in the rooms after the undercover video of maids washing the coffee pots in the toilet and using cleaning products to spray and wipe down the glasses.

I should have thought of that, I know that's how they say it in the UK as well. Its spelling is different to ours as well.
My husband worked at the Aluminum Plant here and it is amazing how difficult the word is for a lot of people.

Yep, our default English is Brit English and not American English. It does drive me slightly batty on these boards when my laptop underlines all of my spelling as incorrect so sometimes I just spell the American way

Dh watched one of those shows and since we stay in townhouses or condos, he insists we wash every single dish and cup the minute we walk in the door.

We also wash them on our way out, so the person behind us does get clean dishes!

We wash the coffee pot carafe too.

Stuff like this creeps me out so much. It's part of the reason why we got a travel trailer. I know who has been in my bed, what my coffee pot has been used for and who has cleaned it. Plus I bring my kitchen with me everywhere. Sadly I don't get housekeeping but maybe that's a good thing.

There have been many threads, which is why this parody struck me as so funny.

We do cook in our CONDO's kitchen and like to eat real food and not restaurant food for most of our meals (we just feel sick if we eat out all that much.)

But we don't cook hot dogs in our coffee pot (or in any pot for that matter.)

The last condo I was in (with my girlfriends at the beach) we brought a 16 quart pot to make low country boil. It accidentally got left there! UGH!

We were on vacation once at a remote hotel in the wintertime when my husband had a very bad leg injury. He could not walk and had to wait overnight to be taken for medical care. He used the ice bucket to pee in. Yes, I washed it out. That's why I always use the bag liner for ice!
