Hi all,

We are planning to book 2 cabins for our family of 10, (6 adults, 1 13yo, a nearly 3 yo, and 2 11 mos old), for Jan. 09. We want the cabins due to the kitchen so we can save a little cash on food cost. Do any of you bring crock pots to the cabin? Not sure if there is a policy about this or not.:confused3 TIA

We have stayed in the cabins and have not brought one. But what a good idea !:thumbsup2

Oh ya with that many people a crock pot is your friend....what do you plan on fixing ? :listen:

LOL, I don't know what I will cook! That was going to be my next post:rotfl:

We're flying, but if I could figure out how to pack a crockpot I would bring mine. The cabins have exactly enough place settings for six. I know I did buy a flat griddle to bring. One that goes over two burners. I remember it was a pain making french toast and grilled cheese with the frying pan provided. The griddle is light weight and will pack easy enough.

There are no cookie sheets, so I got some at the dollar store nearby, use for frech fries and nachos. The list of what they have is on Allears. We mainly cooked breakfast and some dinners, then packed lunch in a cooler for the parks.

You know that's a good idea, never thought of that. I've never shipped anything to WDW, how do you ship it back?

Aren't crockpots inexpensive ? If you have transportation I'de pick one up at Wal-mart or target and give it away when you leave. UPS has to be at least $10.00 each way

They send packages home from the parks, so I would think there would be no problem sending your crockpot back home either. Call the front desk, I know they can help you further...407-824-2727.

We'll be driving, so I can just bring the crock pot. Here is our plan........We'll eat breakfast in the cabin every morning, lunch out in the parks, and MOST nights have a late dinner back at the cabin. I figure with all the money I save on food for 10 people, it will make up some of the exspence of renting two cabins. We would normally tow the camper down, but we wouldn't all fit and gas is so much $$,plus, towing in the middle of winter from upstate NY is a nightmare.:scared1: I think this will work better. My kids & DH all really want to stay at FW again, and me too.............................I would love to hear about some of your favorite crock pot meals! TIA

The last 2 times we were there with the kids we stayed in the cabins and plan to in Feb 09. I purchase the meals in a box from Betty Crocker or Campbell. That along with a veggie makes for a very filling meal. One pan mess and not alot of prep work on my part. Cooking is not my favorite thing!!! We eat breakfast before we head to the parks and then our cooler for lunch. The corckpot would be awesome but we fly and I'm not certain I want to pack and ship. Maybe if my parents come and stay in their motorhome we'll do it with both groups and I can use theirs. We love the cabins. Enjoy!
Cheryl:)

We stay at the cabins a couple of times per year. I have taken our crockpot a couple of times. It was never disturbed by mousekeeping or anything. It is great to come back to the cabin and have something ready instead of having to fix it. I also used to fix a lot of meals and freeze them before we went so there was very little prep when we got there. Now we have a smaller car and cant pack as much as all that. :sad1:
