so, i was supposed to make tacos for dinner tonite, but DH wants pizza instead :sad2: So, can I cook up the ground meat with the taco seasoning and then freeze it for next week? Will it taste as good and be safe to eat? If not, I'll end up throwing it away, which I'd like to avoid if possible. Thanks!

Was it frozen to begin with then you defrosted?

If so I say cook and freeze.
I have no idea if it'll taste the same but I don't see why it wouldn't.

I agree, if not previously frozen go for it. If it was, can it be tomorrow nights dinner?

I fry up ground beef and freeze all the time...not sure about adding the seasoning but I am sure its fine. I usually add the seasoning when I defrost.

Precooking ground beef and chicken is one of my get out of the kitchen quick tricks.

Me too.

It's awesome! Last night, prep for chicken pot pie was like 10 minutes. Love it!

:thumbsup2 Totally.. In fact, Saturday will be our day to cook up about 6 pounds of GB, make 3 or 4 meat loafs, and throw a bag or two of chicken in the crockpot so we have food to eat when the babies come! Something a little more substantial then the PB&J my husband could make. :lmao:

Don't forget meatballs too. Sometimes I end up making way too many from a package so I freeze a few for next time (cooked of course).

If I may ask, how long do you leave it in the freezer? I have always wondered which is why I have never tried it but would love to. TIA!

Great, thanks! Now I have something to work on while DH goes to pick up the pizza. haha.

Ground beef is actually safe indefinitely if frozen, but it will began to lose flavor over time. I think it's recommended to use it within 4 months. :goodvibes

I also keep cooked ground beef and chicken in the freezer all the time. Such a time saver! :thumbsup2
