cookin' a bag in the turkey--who else this year?

Well.....after 15 years of marriage you would think I would know by now to take out the bags from the turkey cavity. Actually I did take out 2 bags but I just didn't carefully check it inside. The kids were calling, my hands were yuck with turkey juice.....I just plopped it in the pan on the turkey lifter and popped it in the oven. When Dh was carving....guess what he found? A third bag!! Oh well! Who else has done it this year? :rotfl:
 
The bag didn't ruin the turkey, like the plastic didn't melt or anything?

Raw turkey goop and juice is so nasty, I wish those darn bags weren't even included, do people actually eat the contents of those bags?
 
Well....we just ate the turkey! Looks like part of the bag melted a bit. I just told DH not to use the meat right there but it was on the inside by the bones. Only part I just thought of is that I used the drippings for gravy and what if there was some melted plastic in that? Uuuugh. Well it was very runny gravy so there probably wasn't!!
 
I doubt there'd be much danger of that in our house... We always stuff the bird...
