Does anyone know if you can ask for cookies for dessert in the main dining room? I know they are not listed, but I am wondering if they are generally available? Totally not a big deal, but I have a child who only eats plain cake and cookies for dessert foods. I know that we can get him some from other places including room service and will plan on that if it is likely that they are not available in the dining room.

I have no doubt that your server would be able to accommodate your needs. Just give them a head's up the first time you're in the dining room, that your child prefers plain cake and cookies.

Although you might have to define "plain cake". Do you mean pound cake? Yellow with white icing? Etc. "Plain cake" probably means something different to every person.

What I mean is plain white, yellow , chocolate cake and frosting (so nothing fancy) . I know variations of this are offered on the kids menu on a couple days like "create your own cupcakes". I just wasn't sure if they offered cookies similar to what you find in Cabanas , Flo's, or room service .

As I said, it isn't a big deal he just asked me today about whether he could get cookies at dinner like he did on Freedom of the Seas. Even then, half the time we took the cookies with us to eat later. He isn't a big fan of sweets.

Oh, I was just meaning you might need to explain "plain cake" to the server. :)

When we travelled with my autistic nephew when he was six we asked on the first night could he just have a cookie for desert. After that a plate of them came out every night automatically. That was 5 years ago on the Magic

I have no doubt that you will be able to get cookies at dessert in the MDR.. just let your server know. :)

As a side note, on the first night of one of our cruises, my husband asked our server if there was a way he (my husband mind you not the server) could get a bran muffin up at Cabanas because he really likes those as a snack before bed.
Within 5 minutes there was not one bran muffin but a plate full of them with butter as well that our server brought to the table. :)
This happened every single night for the next couple of nights until my husband cried Uncle. Lol

On our last cruise (September) I was telling the kids that the Pasta Pursiettes in Animator Palate were my absolute favorite (that was our first dining location of the cruise) . Our server, Ian, (who is amazing and fun) made sure he brought me a plate of them every night for the first three nights in the cruise no matter where we were. :) It was awesome and I never cried Uncle. Just love those!

I continue to pay the DCL prices just for the pursiettes, I love those things!

On one of our cruises our kids weren't eating the bread on the second night and our Head Server inquired why, we told him they were just plain white dinner roll kids, about 10 minutes later out came a basket of plain dinner rolls and there was a basket on the table every night after that.

After 15 cruises, my adult daughter still says that Disney has the best cookies and grabs them every chance she gets at lunch in Cabanas, but I never thought about her asking at dinner to have them for dessert since she is not a fancy dessert person. Thanks so much for the tip!
