Cookie ?

I bought some pre made sugar cookie do and I want to use cookie cutters with the kids - I am wondering if I can add some flour and if that would work to rool it out and use the cookie cutters???

I do not have the stuff nor do i like to make from scratch - I like to get to the best part decorating them

why? forgive me but I am not the baking type person so I don't understand. can you tell me why i should powdered sugar over flour?

I've seen the suggestion for powdered sugar when rolling out cookie dough & think it's so the cookies don't taste floury. They'll also get tough if there's too much flour in them. Good luck!

Yep - powdered sugar is definitely the way to go.. I've been doing that for more years than I can remember - even with my dough that I make from scratch..

Thanks - the kids really like that I let them help, I think it let them take pride in something ...

like today we made a gingerbread tree and they had so much fun and they had to show it off - but they also were very good today as a result..they started to take pride in cleaning up after themselves. I was so happy that I didn't have to ask anyone to do the dishes or take the trash out I was beaming
