Bah Humbug to Disney on this one. They have raised the prices at Cookes Of Dublin. This is the little fish and chips stand next door to Raglan Road in Pleasure Island/Downtown Disney. The fish and chip meal is now $9.95. My favorite Cookes Combo is now up to $14.95. It still includes the drink but the menu board does not mention that. The price raise seems to be about $2 on most things and $3 on the combo.

That is a bummer, but I don't think you can blame Disney for that one. If I am not mistaken, Cookes is not owned by Disney.

We enjoyed Cookes, but if this is the same meal we got in May, 1 piece of fish and chips, it is not worth $10. I would gladly pay that amount for 2 pieces of fish and chips.

That is a good question. I suspect you are right about Disney not owning them. It is still sad. Like Slimpaw said it is a bit much for one piece of fish and chips even though the piece is huge. $15 is also way too much for the combo which is one piece fish, two scallops, 6 sausage, chips and a drink. Although DF and I can manage to share said combo.

Is Cookes' still a CS meal on the DDP?

I do not know since I am local. I am sometimes just go down to eat there or Earl Of Sandwich. However if I get the chance I will ask next time I am down there if someone does not figure out sooner. You would think with this latest price raise that they have pulled out of the program or are trying to make up for lost profit from the program.

As a cash paying customer though they will be loosing some of my business. Of course Earls also had a recent price increase. Bah. Wolfgang Puck Express removed my favorite cheap 4 cheese mac and cheese from their menu and put more expensive items in the $15 price range on their menu.

I would like to know if it is still a CS on the dining plan. Dd and I were planning on a lunch there.:confused3

Yes, Cookes is a CS on the meal plan for 2007. For 2008 we still need to wait and see. ;)
