Booked OKW for 5 nights - kids are 7 & 5 - we usually stay at BWV or Dolphin!

Unfortunately this is a last minute trip, our last for this year! We could only get OKW. I know many like/love it I am very nervous it will be very low key and my kids will be crazy bored!

What can you say positive about OKW to convince a very apprehensive mother that the trip she just booked will be fine! (other than to late now!)

Also, do any frequent OKWers go to Boardwalk at night, how do you get there? Do we need to go to the Transport Center?

Thanks,
Carolyn

Have no fear! You'll love OKW!:teeth:

The vacation homes at OKW are larger than at BWV's and beautiful! What size unit did you reserve? You're kids will enjoy, don't worry. Community hall has kids activities and there are play grounds throughout the resort as well as 4 different pools. No slide as of yet at the pools but that will be coming in the near future as they are getting ready to install one come Sept. If you happen to be going during the main pool rehab they will be shuttling members and guests to the nearby new DVC resort SSR to use their pool - which does have a slide;) (all other neighborhood pools will be open during that time as well).

As for how to get to BW at night - if you happen to be at Epcot that afternoon you can always just walk over or take the boat to BW - otherwise you can take a bus from OKW to any of the 4 parks or DTD and just hop on the bus that goes from that park to BW;)

HTH's some.

i've have only stayed at BW once and that was in a studio. we loved it. the last 2x we've stayed at OKW 2bedroom. i love it. other than the pool i prefer the OKW. MY kids were 6 when we did BW,They were 9 and then 11 when we did OKW. There were plenty of treats at OKW. One of my sons just loved this duck that stayed outside our patio. They all enjoyed an entertainer outside the pool area. they loved running across the bridge. There was something to be said about walking directly into our "home" skipping the entry and hallway. I however loved the serenity of OKW. I enjoyed getting away from the noise, lights, excitement for small periods. The BW was beautiful and I will be staying there again in the future. I can't honestly find fault with either location. I also believe that the OKW living room area is slightly larger than other resorts. (we found that a huge plus for homework time as we take the kids out of school for our vacations).
Either way, I'm sure your DS will have a wonderful time. I'm sure by the time your in your resort he'll be pooped from the parks.

You can also take the boat to Downtown Disney to catch a bus to the Boardwalk. Never fear - your children will love OKW. I own at both resorts and my 19 year old is down there right now for a trip. Guess where he asked to stay? Yep, OKW!
