that I'll like tony's at MK.
Here's the situation. We arrive on that day and have a 9 a.m. reservation at Whispering Canyon Cafe because we're staying at WL, so I thought we'd get to WL around 8:30 to check in (I know the room won't be ready yet) and then eat a nice breakfast to start the trip off and head to MK. It's our only day we'll keep the kids out for the parades (my 2 year old needs her naps) I'm hoping she'll sleep in the stroller but we'll see. I planned an early 5pm dinner at Tony's and then figured we could head back to WL after dinner to check out our room and swim before an early bedtime to hit the parks early the next morning.
We aren't a super picky family and LOVE italian food. Kids love spaghetti and pizza so I think we'll be alright there. How are the salads and deserts (my favorite part of the meal). Your service experience here? I hate to start the trip off on a bad note.
Your thoughts??

It's a good news/bad news kind of thing.....

The good news is that the atmosphere at Tony's is wonderful, and the service is very good. It is a beautiful restaurant, and the servers are attentive. And the kids will probably love it.

OK, bad news...for adults, even non-picky ones, the food is mediocre at best. As I recall, the salad was ok, and the dessert selection is standard fare--I think I had cheesecake last time, which was OK.

With your schedule, I think its probably a good choice, as long as the grown ups don't expect too much. (Another option might be the character meal at Liberty Tree Tavern at MK--food is very good).

Have fun!

I didn't think it was bad at all...lets face it, it isn't supoose to be looked at like a 5 star retaurant. We both had the salmmon, it was good, no different then going to TGIFs or another place like that
I think your choice was wise, you seem to have planned it out nice

I have always had great service at Tony's while the food has been somewhat variable. It has never been bad, just sometimes it has been truly mediocre (from WordNet: of middle quality). It sounds like your plans are reasonable.

We did Tony's in October. We sort of stumbled on to it because this trip was a spur-of-the-moment decision by DH (with the free dining), and it was a little difficult to get ADR's a month out.

That being said, I really enjoyed it! DH had baked ziti, and I had. . .ok, I don't remember what (must go look in the scrapbook). . .but anyway, I liked it! It wasn't the BEST meal of the whole trip, but I would certainly go back if we did the dining plan again!

I loved the whole Lady and the Tramp theme!

I wont be able to convince you. We did not like it. Not a good selection & got
terrible indigestion after. Wont be back. :sad2:

O.K. everyone so I'm not convinced ;) . What do you think of blowing of Magic Kingdom after the parade and taking the monorail over to the Contemporary for a chef Mickey dinner that first night?? Can you convince me of this ? :goodvibes
