I need to make the reservations for our family's first wdw trip in January by the end of this weekend. My problem is I can't decide where to stay. I have narrowed it down to Port Orleans Riverside, or FW cabins. Since you guys are the experts on FW convince me that this is where our family should stay.
thanks........

We just stayed at FW cabins in Feb and loved it. My DH and I had privacy from our DD at night, you don't have to worry as much about noise levels because there is no one on the other side of the wall. Leaving the parks and going back to your cabin is like going from the city to the country, you feel relaxed the minute you get back. You can also cook your own meals a week or two of restaurant food can be a bit tiring. FW has so much to offer you can spend an entire day there going horseback riding, swimming, biking or visiting the petting zoo. Everyone talks about the poor bus system, but we stayed in the 2200 loop. If you go out to the corner of Frontier Way and Peacock pass a bus passes every 4 or 5 minutes, and the boat ride to MK is great. We are completely sold on the cabins, unfortunately it is not in the budget for our next trip so it's AllStars for us. Try the cabins you will not be disappointed.

I totally agree with everything DopeyDays said...the cabins are awesome. You will save money by having the full kitchen and the maid service is great. You can go to the campfire at night and see the fireworks from the beach. The overall atmosphere is nice and relaxing, it's like you're a million miles away from all the action, but you really aren't. With a family we feel it's the place to be, and for the time being, we won't even consider any other resorts!! have fun whatever you decide:wave:

The cabins are a great place to stay! Lots of amenities and privacy, and maid service to boot! Just remember, Fort Wilderness is addictive--we bought a motorhome so we could afford to go more often!

We LOVE them!!! I am a travel agent and have been to Disney several times with my children and without. When we travel with the children ages 9,7 and 5, we always stay at the FW cabins. The location is great. My mother in law always travels with us and she stays in the bedroom with the kids and my husband and I take the murphy bed in the living room. There is always more than enough space and privacy. We rent a golf cart from off site (much cheaper) and use the buses when we need to or we always rent a car, so we drive to the more remote parks. The peace and quiet at the campground is great and it is an absolutely beautiful resort. We love being able to have breakfast before we leave in the morning and being able to have snacks or occasionally dinner at the cabin. If you decide not to stay in the cabins, at least when your in Disney, go visit FW, so you can see what you missed!!

Well, it looks like everyone else covered it!! I guess all I'll say is that a FW cabin is a wonderful place to come "home" to after a busy day at the parks! It's a very relaxing atmosphere. Also, if you have a day when you don't feel like the hustle & bustle of the parks, there is plenty of stuff to do right at the campground!

I promise you won't be sorry if you decide on the cabins!! :D

I think my user name says it all!!!!!!!!!!!!

My DH, DD/12, DS/6 and DD/4 will not even discuss staying anywhere else.
We love EVERYTHING about FW. There is plenty to do for all ages.
Give it a try!!!!!!!!!!!

Where ever you stay I hope you have a great trip!!!!
