I watched the special on the Travel Channel for the WL and the WCC looked like a fun place to take the family for dinner. My wife is not so convinced. At this point I don't even know if I can get a reservation. What are your thoughts and experiences? Is this place worth a try?

My DH saw that segment and went white as a sheet. :rotfl2: He definitely thought a meal at the WCC would be auditory overload! I assured him we didn't have an ADR there. Since it's just the 2 of us I chose less "rowdy" dining experiences!

That was my wife's thoughts too. However, I think our 6 and 7 year old boys would love it. I'll have to make sure to ask for ketchup.

If you get your wife to go make sure that you have her ask for ketchup and a straw!!!LOL:rotfl:

It is quite alot of fun! We are going during our upcoming visit...just so my family can make a fool out of me on my birthday. Food isn't bad either.

We always seem to hit WCC at least once on every trip. Good food and is is alot of fun!! Mind you our October trip wasn't as much fun but that could be b/c we had the latest possible lunch seating for 2:30pm and the restaurant was empty pretty much!

We LOVE the WCC, when we were in DW 2 years ago, we stayed at WL, therefore we ate at WCC a lot. We were not planning on going back when we go in June, but my ILs, who are just as crazy as the servers, are coming with us, so we decided to make the ADRs. They have no idea that we are going to this place and they probably have never heard of it either....they are going to be sooooo surprised. On that note, I think your DW will enjoy it, it can get loud but it is very fun.. your kids will REALLY enjoy it. They have pony races that go through the entire restaurant, and the CMs give them a certificate for participating. The food is excellent, they have the best BBQ that I have ever eaten. And make sure you ask for Ketchup...it's a hoot:rotfl: Also, they have bottomless milkshakes...yes I did say bottomless, that are so thick and yummy:love:

We liked this restaurant. We went for breakfast last summer. The food was ok, and I liked that it was served family-style. What really did it for us was the atmosphere. The ketchup thing is funny. The highlight of our experience was that after I had asked for a couple of soda refills, our waiter brought me out a HUGE mason jar full of soda. I could barely lift it! My husband and kids were really laughing. If you or anyone in your family doesn't like a lot of attention or "all eyes on them," though, this might not be the best place-they may get singled-out.

we enjoyed WCC last september. My words of advice:

Go there hungry especially if you order the skillet (the food just keeps coming and coming like the energizer bunny)
You kids will love it- they have pony races and the CM's are awesome with kids.
Go there with an open mind cuz yes it does get loud and the CM's will pick on you immensely.

Be aware though, that it does get loud and rowdy. The whole theme of the restaurant is interaction with the guest. Your wife may want to skip it, if this is the type of thing that may make her a little red in the face.

Bobby the Kid...seen in our family photo below...Is the real reason we go to WCC every single trip.

It is the kind of place that is love it or hate it, I think, depending on your personality and what you like in a meal. I haven't eaten there, because I very much dislike restaurants where that sort of interaction is part of the experience. I just don't get into it, and prefer quieter meals as a break from the activity and noise of the parks. But I know people who absolutely loved it and wouldn't dream of doing Disney without a meal at WCC, because for them, the interaction with the staff adds to the experience.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried calling to make a reservation for dinner, but they are booked solid for the week I'm going (May 11th - May21st). I need to think about whether to try for a lunch now or wait until we get there and see if there are any cancellations. :headache:

If your gets are shy, then stay away. If they are wild like my kids, go and have some fun! My daughter still talks about the bottomless milkshakes. As other have stated, make sure you complain about how small your soda/water glass is, ask for a straw, and make sure you 'ask for some keptchup'. We had to ask for it twice. The stick pony races will be fun also. Just don't go right when it opens. Let it get a little crowded and noisy first! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 If you have kids it's a really nice experience. Good family fun. They tend to have a good feel for those who want to participate and those who don't. We went for my daughters 16th birthday..and they brought her desert with a candle in it..but had her stand on her chair while everyone sang Happy Birthday to her!

We went a few years ago and got Miss Understood (waitress name) and it was a horrible experience. She sat us in the back of the restaurant behind a split screen and we didn't get to participate in any of the fun. We also really needed ketchup, so we asked for it and got one bottle. While I appreciated that we got the ketchup....it would have been funny to atleast get some of the fun. I also asked if my son could order off of the children's menu (we'd paid for the adult dining plan and so she'd get a tip on that), and she insisted we had to order the skillet for him too.....it was horrible.

So if you want the fun of it, ask for a table in the middle of the restaurant. If you want to be left alone to eat, ask for a nice table in the back with Miss Understood.

I went for my birthday and just loved it. Very fun. The waiter said it is good to go for Lunch because they (the wait staff)have a little more energy and it is not as crowded. Food is OK, but you go for the atmosphere.

:flower: My girls and I are big WC fans. We went there twice last Aug. Its a great family fun restaurant. My girls loved it. The only thing my 4 yr old didn't like was riding the pony around the restaurant. Some kids love it, others hate it. My daughter cried when she got half way around the restaurant, it just wasn't for her. I think she felt like people were laughing at her, when really everyone was just laughing & having a good time in general. We are definitely heading back again this year for some more fun.
