Convince me about Jiko...

This is a little bit off topic but I was wondering if anyone knows if the night vision goggles for watching animals are free or if they cost something? Also where to get them?

I'm eating at Jiko in May and think it would be fun to look at the animals afterward...and it might be dark out by the time we're done. Can't wait!

There is no cost for the night vision goggles. The area is the animal viewing area to the left of the pool. I would ask about the specific time when you arrive. You just show up and there are some CM's there to supervise. They just pass the goggles around to the different families and make sure everyone has a turn. It is a wonderful (and a little creepy!) experience.

Oh my goodness...Jiko is sooo good. It remains my favorite onsite restaurant every.. I have never had a bad meal or bad service there. I love AKL and its where I usually stay but we opted for a longer trip at POP this trip so I will miss it but will enjoy visiting several times for meals at Boma and Jiko.. both are delicious.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I wasn't impressed at all with Jiko. I had the famous filet and it was ok. Not worth $43 in my opinion. I think the food at Kobe Steakhouse just outside Disney gates is 10x better and cheaper.

It was cool being inside the AKL and we enjoyed walking around when we were done eating. Overall, I do not think this meal was worth the money.
