Just checking my logic…
My family is considering doing a magical gathering the first week in January. I was going to book everything separate (room only, then buy tickets there). I was thinking if I did this that I could probably upgrade to a package (if we decided to do that) as the trip grew closer.

Will I lose money doing this? I figure that the money from the room deposit will go towards the package and we would most likely have to pay the balance of the package right away because it would be within the 90-day mark.

Does this sound about right?

You will not lose any money. You can cancel the room only reservation up to 5 days from your trip and get the money back. So even if you have to cancel it to create the package, you will not lose anything. Usually they will simply transfer any money you have already paid to the package and go from there.

Our feb package had to be paid 45 days in advance. I don't think its changed... anyone else know? :bounce:
