My simple question: am I going to have any trouble converting a basic package reservation (just tickets, no dining) into a room only reservation? Can I keep the room reservation and just drop the tickets or will I have to make a whole new room only reservation if I want to change (and thereby take the risk that I might not be able to get a room if I have to make a new reservation)?
Background (if you are interested): I am doing a split stay in March 2008. My plan was to book a package for the first part of the stay with park tickets that will last through the entire trip (since it is cheaper to do one 10 day ticket than two 5 day tickets). I was going to make a room only reservation for the second part of the stay. However, a room only reservation requires a deposit of one night's room charge. Since I am staying at YC concierge during peak season, this would have meant a deposit of $700+. I could get away with a $200 deposit if I made the second reservation another package, so that is what I did. However, since I don't need the tickets for the second reservation, at some point down the road I will convert the package to a room only reservation (hence my question above regarding whether this will be a problem).
By the way, if you think I did a bad thing by making this package reservation to save on the amount of the deposit, please let me know. I am prepared to take my medicine if that is the case.
