Converting CS credits to Snacks

Back in 2009, I was able to convert some CS credits to snacks. Think I managed to get 3 snacks (e.g. 3 bowls of grapes or was it 2?) for my CS meal and 1 beverage. Are they still allowing this? I did this at the AS Music foodcourt. I wonder if there's anywhere else in WDW (especially the parks) where this is allowed. Any thoughts? Suggestions? The Dining Plan is good idea if one eats a great deal. But we find that it's entirely too much food for us. So being able to convert CS credits to snacks is a good way to make use of the rest of the CS credits. At least we are able to bring the snacks home and give them away to friends and relatives (candy, Disney treats, etc).

People have better luck converting if they don't use the word convert. (It's a sad kind of funny, but it's true)

Two of the three components of a CS Credit are already snacks. I've never had a problem asking if I can substitute a bag of grapes, piece of fruit, etc for my entree. Then I use the dessert component and the beverage component to complete my 'meal' of snacks.

Many have problems doing this when they go to the register asking if they can convert at the park. Since there is no conversion button on the register, they're told No. Even though the same cashier would have probably answered Yes if asked to substitute something for the entree.

So, no you cannot convert at the parks usually, however, you can usually substitute and get your desired result.

Haha!! Thanks. Ok, so I should substitute instead of convert. Got it. May I ask what sort of substituitions you have made thus far?

So far I've substituted - Mickey Mouse Crispy Treat, Grapes, Apple, and Banana

Not snacks, but I've quite frequently grabbed cold sandwiches or uncrustables as my entree. We did this last year on the way out of the Magic Kingdom before our drive home. The sandwiches were put in our cooler and we had them at a rest stop up the road.

Last month I had a bunch of CS credits left over. I was staying at Polynesian. I was able to get 3 of the Mickey rice krispy treats for 1 credit. I also was able to pick 2 bakery items and a bag of chips for another. Yet another I picked 2 packages of their apple slices with the carmel sauce that were in the grab and go case with another rice krisy treat.

I've been told yes and no. It seems to depend which CM you get, some allow it and others don't. How many snacks I can get for a CS credit has also varied from those that say yes.

Brilliant! Thank you!

Tricia1972, where at MK did you pick those cold sandwiches up? Was it Main Street Bakery?

Thank you all for your input. It only makes sense that Disney allow their guests to do this. That way, we're happy, Disney still makes a boat load of money and we return to WDW and spend more money and the cycle continues.

dazednconfused - Yes it was at the Magic Kingdom. I must say that they were much better than a dreaded "Gas Station" sandwich or quick burger from McDonald's on our drive home.
