Has anyone successfully converted a 5-day pass to a 6 day pass working through guest services while on site at DL?

It is my understanding that they absolutely will not do it. Sorry! I wanted longer passes too.

I had a friend who upgraded from 5 to 6 days about two weeks ago. She said that she was told you could upgrade to six days but not seven or eight.
Hope this helps!

Do you happen to know if she bought her ticket before or after all the changes this May?

I was under the impression that you could up grade the extra day or two, at the booths before your current ticket run out.???:confused3

Wow! I am so going to see if this is possible next month. I am getting 5 day hopper passes....but really want 6. I will have to try this. Wish me luck!

Please let us know if you are able to add the 6th day or not. I am sure there are many of us who are interested to know if it can be done and what the cost is to add a 6th day. I would love to visit the parks on the day we arrive but not at a cost of $250 - $350 for 1 day tickets for the 3 of us when we will already buy 5 day PH at a cost of $850. Thanks.

We are in the same boat...except that there are just 2 of us. Can't see spending all that money for a half day in the parks at best. Look for my reply on the 3rd. :thumbsup2

Is anyone able to tell me why a 5 day pass is the maximum that can be bought? It appears as if there is good demand for more days than 5. I would think Disney would want to accommodate their guests. It sounds like most people wouldn't pay the absorbatant cost for the extra one day ticket (I wouldn't) so Disney loses out on all the money they would spend during that extra day in the park.

This would be great if we could do it. I wonder if anyone else has given it a try lately?

My thinking too!! I called the park and got NO WHERE the other day. However, the cast member was not the brightest crayon in the box. She was telling me there was NO WAY to do this whatsoever. I was like um....buy a 5 day and a single ticket...and she was like.....nope can't do that......so....it would be nice to see about that 6 day thing. popcorn::

I wonder if they will re introduce longer passes again now that they are cracking down on the ticket renting. There is really no benefit if they can prevent ticket renting/sharing. I'm thinking this is why they were trying the 4/5 day lines, so that they could find a way to make their guests happy again by offering longer passes. Just my two cents.

We would buy a 6 day hopper too - last time we went, we bought an AP which was more cost effective for 9 days plus at the time. We are from the UK and stay typically for 14 nights plus. We based ourselves in Anaheim but did do other things on some days - with our AP, we ended up visiting Disney parks for about 9 days, sometimes just in the evenings and we were blocked out on the 2 Saturdays we had there, so did soemthing else.

This time we are planning on staying a few days in the city of LA first - longer than we would ideally like - we would prefer to do about 5 days in LA and the rest in Disney but there is no point if we can only buy a 5 day pass in DLR - so we'll probably split it 7/7 instead. Disney therefore are losing out on 2 days of our cash (at least) by not having longer passes. I dont think they are catering for people from overseas who want to stay longer.

I agree but it's not just the people from overseas that want to stay longer, it's also for those that go to DL once a year or so and want to make the most of it. We are going for 8 days this Christmas and are staying at PPH, yet we can only get 5 day passes, upgrade to an AP or buy the additional days. Makes zero sense in my opinion. DL is losing money to so many groups that come for longer than the 5 days. Yes, I realize DL is a more local resort but they need to cater to those of us that do use it as a destination as well.

I'm from Australia and we were able to buy 14 day hopper passes incl one early entry for only about $20 more than a 5 day ticket. Through QANTAS holidays. :cool1:

It breaks my heart to see DISers who don't know yet that the Disneyland Resort took away the ability to purchase and or add on to anything more than a 5 day park hopper. I had originally posted this thread on this trip planning board, but it eventually got moved to the community board. Anyway, there are a lot of people who feel the same...

The e-mail seems to be generating a return e-mail and the snail mail seems to be generating a personal phone call. I took the opportunity on the phone to continue to make my points, which included wanting more time in Disneyland, which meant we would be spending more $ in the parks. I also spoke about how good customers should not be punished just because bad customers were taking advantage of the system.

It is encouraging to hear that someone was allowed to add a 6th day to a hopper pass. Maybe our comments, e-mails and snail mails are starting to be heard. So let's continue to write and add to our plea!

Yes I heard about that from others on my last trip and wondered why that is available to only Australian residents

On TV at home, all the adverts are for WDW and none for DLR - I expect its the other way round in Australia - we have 'special' deals for WDW, which pulls us towards WDW most years

I did send an email when the change first happened. I will try to get an actual letter out.
