"So how was your three day trip to the Berkshires?"

"Fine".

"What did you do?"

"Things."

"Who did you hang out with?"

"People."

"What did you eat?"

"Stuff."

Don't you just love how much detail kids go into today?;):p

My 13 year old is the same exact way! :)

It's the opposite with mine - I actually get too much information, right down to every detail and what so and so was wearing when whatever happened ;) She's 11.

I've had the same conversation!

And then when you keep pressing for more information because, "a good parent communicates with their children", the kid gets agitated because you're bugging them!!!

What's really amazing is watching your 13 year old daughter
IM (instant message ) her friends on the computer.

Here's a sample:

what you doin'
nutn what about u
nutn just sit here bored to death
u goin anywhere later
naw, just chillin' here
yea me too, i'm so bored..

It just goes on and on and on.....

I honestly believe that if we did not limit her time, she'd sit there all day IM'ing about absolutely nothing.

Of course you're bored, you're sitting in front of a computer.
Get off the computer and DO something with your friends.

We have been luck in this regard. My kids are too willing to talk.
