Conversation station???

don't you mean Conservation Station ;) I am not even sure waht attraction this is, I may or may not have seen it.

I love it! The train ride is peaceful and interesting to see the back area of AK. The attractions once you reach the station are educational and never crowded. And there is a nice petting farm where you can play with cute things :) I don't even have kids and I do this every time! But if you have kids, who like animals, it's a must. When I went with my neice when she was 4, we couldn't pull her away !

It's also just a nice escape from the crowds in the rest of the park.

It's now called Rafiki's Planet Watch, and you get there by the Wildlife Express Train from the Africa section of Animal Kingdom.

ITA. :) It's definitely a case of "you get out what you put in."

:) :)

Well at least you knew what I meant...

I had been to AK 3 times before I even knew about it, certainly something they don't highlite...

There's not a lot of flashy stuff there. It's a train ride that goes behind teh scenes of Ak (sort of) and shows some of the backstage animal holding facilities. Then you get out and go into a building that uses some hands on displays to teach about environmental issues and animal conservation. Then there is a small gift shop and a petting zoo.

But it's really educational, rarely crowded and a great way for kids to get up close to some cute critters :) I personally love this area. I find it relaxing and peaceful and a nice break from the fast paced day at AK.

Definately if you are going with a young child check it out :)

My DS and I both enjoy the relative quiet (compared to the rest of AK) at Conservation Station/Rafiki's Planet Watch.

The little cuties at the petting zoo (both the animals and the children playing with them!) always make me smile.

Rafiki's Planet Watch is a great place to go for a mid-day break in the park. Plenty of air conditioning, something that's extreemly lacking in the rest of the park. The exhibits are pretty fun and there are a number of animal encounters and character greeting oppertunities (Rafiki, Pocahontas and Playhouse Disney's Stanley are usually there). If you have the time, I woule recogmend giving this a try, especially with young children.

We've seen Jane from Tarzan back there. Plus the Song of the Rainforest is one of the most relaxing/refreshing attractions. You sit in darkness with headphones on and listen to a story. You almost feel like you have taken a short nap. The vet hospital sometimes has surgery going on that you can watch through the window. They have all sorts of bugs, small animals etc that you can look at. They show you skeletons, bones, skin, etc of animals. More like an animal museum than amusement park. Plus there is the petting zoo at the end - goats, pot bellied pigs, sheep, other smaller animals.
