My friend and I have just come back from Vegas when one of the big conventions was on. We found it quite interesting to meet and talk to lots of different people from USA.

Is CS like that? Are there lots of Conventioners there? It is my friends first time to WDW and we just want somewhere to stay on-site without too many kids about. We also like the chance to meet other people and chat.

We are going in May 06.

Thanks

We have stayed at CSR the last two trips, most recently our honeymoon. I have to say it does atleast "appear" to be less children around this resort than others we have stayed at. This may be due to conventions. We dont mind either way but just an observation. CSR still has all the wonderful aspects of a Disney resort-dont let anyone tell you different, CSR has all the disney magic you could ask for. The theme is great-with the different sections and pool. The food court is bar far the better of the moderate resorts.
Now, as for meeting other people, that happens at any resort so I cant say you would more or less likely to meet people at CSR. We find we always meet new people on our trips to WDW at the resorts and the parks.

My wife and I have meet different guests at the pool who have told us they were there because their spouse was at a convention. We have also been there when a karate and dance convention was going on.

I have been wondering about this as well, but with the opposite goal :)

My wife and I usually stay at CBR, and thing that we should try somewhere new. CSR looks nice, but I am a little apprehensive because of the convention center that is there. I don't really want to stay somewhere that is swarmed with groups of people - going from place to place at the same time, all hitting shops/foodcourts at the same time. I don't know if the "Disney Magic" will be lessened by all the non-vacationers.

Us too!!! We are considering splitting our stay five nights @ POP/three nights at CS. I don't want to see a bunch of "suits" walking around to make my family feel like we are in an office building instead of on vacation!! A friend of mine stayed at the CS resort and loved it, didn't see any "suits" and highly recommended it!!

The pictures I've seen of CS are beautiful. We have already stayed at POR and want to try another moderate resort. I am going to let my luck with AP rates make my decision!!
